This is a 3.7V, 1050mAh Li-ion cell replacing the OEM SB-L1037 and SB-L1137 batteries. It fits the Samsung Digimax U-CA 3, U-CA 4, U-CA 401, and compatible U-CA series compact cameras. Dimensions are 53.20 × 35.30 × 7.10mm — the same physical footprint as the original.

  • U-CA series compatibility: The U-CA 3, U-CA 4, and U-CA 401 all share the same battery bay dimensions and 3.7V rail. One cell covers the entire group without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on U-CA series bodies. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, and voltage delivery stayed consistent through the discharge curve.
  • First-cycle charging on U-CA bodies: Charge this cell once through the camera body or OEM charger before heavy shooting. Some U-CA series units need an internal charge cycle to calibrate the battery-remaining indicator to the new cell's discharge curve — skipping this step can cause the indicator to read inaccurately from the first use.

Battery percentage jumping erratically on U-CA series display

The U-CA series maps its battery indicator to a fixed voltage-threshold table based on the original SB-L1037 discharge curve. A new replacement cell may have a slightly different discharge profile at the same voltage points. This causes the indicator to skip levels — sometimes showing two bars, then suddenly jumping to one bar without warning. Run one full charge-discharge cycle through the camera body and the indicator recalibrates to the new cell's actual curve.

Shot count dropping when flash is enabled on every frame

The flash capacitor in U-CA series cameras draws a short but sharp recharge current after every fired frame. At low cell voltage — below roughly 3.4V — recharge time increases and the camera may throttle shooting pace. This is a draw issue, not a cell fault. Keep flash off in bright conditions to reduce capacitor recharge demand, and avoid shooting flash-heavy sequences when the indicator shows one bar remaining.

My Digimax U-CA 3 shows "no battery" immediately after fitting the new cell — is the battery dead?

It's not dead — the U-CA 3 BMS runs an authentication check on first install and sometimes rejects an unrecognised cell on cold contact. Remove the battery, reinsert it firmly so the contacts seat fully, then charge it once via the OEM charger or camera body before powering on. That single charge cycle is usually enough for the body to accept the cell and clear the no-battery flag.

The battery indicator on my U-CA 4 drops from three bars to one bar after just a few shots — is something wrong with the cell?

Nothing is wrong with the cell itself. The U-CA 4 indicator maps to fixed voltage thresholds calibrated to the original factory cell's discharge curve. A replacement cell discharges at a slightly different rate across those same voltage points, so the display skips indicator levels rather than stepping down evenly. Run one full charge-discharge cycle inside the camera body and the indicator will track the new cell's actual curve from that point forward.

My U-CA 3 battery drains noticeably faster in cold weather — is the capacity lower than rated?

Cold temperatures temporarily reduce available capacity in any Li-ion cell — this is chemistry, not a product fault. At temperatures below around 10°C, internal resistance rises and the cell delivers less usable charge per cycle. Keep a spare cell in a shirt pocket close to body temperature and swap it in when shooting outdoors in the cold. Once the cell warms back to room temperature, rated capacity returns on the next full charge.
