This happens because the fuel gauge IC still holds the discharge curve of the original cell. The projector draws a surge of current that accelerates this voltage cliff. Run one full discharge cycle without the projector active, then charge to 100% uninterrupted. After that cycle, the fuel gauge recalibrates and shutdowns at false low percentages stop.
Phone feels warm near the battery during the first few charges
A new Li-ion cell has higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell, so the charge IC works harder to push current in during the first few cycles. This generates mild heat near the battery compartment — it is normal and settles within two to three full charge cycles. If the phone is hot to the touch or charge stops before 100% repeatedly, check that the charge port is clean and the cable is not limiting current. Warmth that persists past the third cycle points to a charge IC issue on the board, not the cell.
