Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Orange Vegas — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (Li3706T42P3h413457)
This is a 3.7V, 650mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Orange Vegas smartphone. It replaces part number Li3706T42P3h413457 and fits directly into the Vegas housing. Install it when the original cell no longer holds a usable charge.
- Orange Vegas fit: The Vegas uses a slim fixed-footprint cell at 40.60 x 34.00 x 5.60mm. This replacement matches that footprint exactly. The connector pinout and BMS communication lines align with the Vegas charge IC — no adapter or modification needed.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the Vegas platform. The BMS handed off charge termination cleanly at 4.2V, and the protection circuit tripped correctly at the low-voltage cutoff threshold — no unexpected shutdowns during discharge.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After fitting this cell, disable fast charging for the first complete discharge-charge cycle. The Vegas fuel gauge IC was calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. One full cycle at standard current lets it map the new cell before high-current charging pushes into an uncalibrated state.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
The Orange Vegas fuel gauge IC reads state-of-charge from a stored discharge curve — not live cell voltage alone. A new cell has a different voltage-versus-capacity profile than the worn cell the IC was calibrated against. At around 3.55–3.60V, the new cell still has usable capacity, but the IC thinks it's at 20–30% and the modem or screen load causes a brief voltage sag below the shutdown threshold. One full discharge-charge cycle at standard current forces the coulomb counter to re-anchor to the new cell's actual curve and clears this behaviour.
Phone warm near the battery compartment on the first few charges
A new Li-ion cell has higher internal impedance than a partially aged one. The Vegas charge IC drives current into that higher-impedance cell, and the extra resistive loss exits as heat. This is most noticeable during the first two or three charges and settles as the cell conditions. If the device feels hot — not just warm — during charging, remove it from any case and charge on a flat surface until the first few cycles are done. By the third full charge, impedance drops and the warmth reduces noticeably.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Orange Vegas shuts off at around 25% after fitting the new battery — is the cell faulty?
The cell is not faulty. The Vegas fuel gauge IC holds a discharge curve calibrated to the original cell, and the new cell's voltage profile doesn't match it. At roughly 3.57V the IC misreads remaining capacity, and a brief load spike from the modem or display drops voltage below the shutdown threshold. Run one full discharge — use the phone until it shuts off on its own — then charge uninterrupted to 100% at standard charge current. That single cycle re-anchors the coulomb counter to the new cell and clears the early shutdown.
The battery percentage on my Orange Vegas jumps around erratically after replacing the cell — sometimes it goes up on its own.
Erratic percentage readings are the fuel gauge IC actively recalibrating. The IC uses a stored model of the old cell's impedance and discharge curve, and when it encounters a new cell with different characteristics it keeps correcting its estimate as voltage data comes in. The jumping settles after two to three full discharge-charge cycles as the IC builds a new reference curve. Do not interrupt those early cycles — let each charge run to 100% and each discharge run as low as the phone allows before plugging back in.
Fast charging stopped working on my Orange Vegas after I put in the replacement battery — it only charges slowly now.
The Vegas charge IC negotiates fast charge current at the start of each session. On a fresh cell with higher impedance, the IC may drop back to standard current on the first cycle as a precaution — this is normal behaviour, not a fault. Charge the battery fully once at the slower rate, then discharge and recharge again. By the second or third cycle, cell impedance drops into the expected range and the charge IC re-enables higher current. If fast charging still does not resume after three cycles, check that the charging cable supports the required current — the bottleneck is often the cable, not the cell.
