Fits Samsung Galaxy Grand (GT-i9080, GT-i9082) and replaces EB535163LU, EB535163LA battery packs.
3.8V nominal voltage with 2100mAh capacity delivers the rated charge cycle for this device class.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with no locking tab — orientation marked on the pack itself.
We ran discharge cycles on the bench; the BMS accepted the pack on first insertion without fault codes.
On first use after installation, discharge fully without using fast charge — this lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Samsung Galaxy Grand GT-i9080 / GT-i9082 — 3.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (EB535163LU)

This is a 3.8V, 2100mAh Li-ion replacement cell for the Samsung Galaxy Grand and Galaxy Grand Duos. It fits GT-i9080, GT-i9082, and 13 additional Samsung models sharing the EB535163LU / EB535163LA part number. Swap it when your original cell no longer holds a usable charge through a normal day of use.

  • GT-i9080 and GT-i9082 compatibility: Both the single-SIM Grand and the Duos dual-SIM variant use the same physical cell format, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one cell covers both boards. The EB535163LA designation is a regional variant of the same unit.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on a GT-i9082 board and confirmed the BMS completed a full charge cycle without triggering an over-voltage cutoff. The charge IC accepted the cell on first insertion without a reset sequence.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first cycle: After fitting this cell, run one complete discharge down to auto-shutoff before charging back to 100%. The Galaxy Grand's fuel gauge IC calibrates its coulomb counter against the discharge curve of the installed cell — skipping this step causes the percentage indicator to drift or jump erratically in early use.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Galaxy Grand after a cell swap

This happens when the fuel gauge IC is still running the discharge curve it learned from the old, degraded cell. The new cell has a steeper voltage cliff under modem and display load than the IC expects at that state-of-charge reading. When the actual cell voltage drops below the board's cutoff threshold, the phone shuts off — even though the percentage display still shows charge remaining. One full discharge-to-shutoff cycle lets the coulomb counter remap against the new cell's actual curve. After that cycle, shutdowns at false-high percentages stop.

Galaxy Grand shows wrong battery percentage after replacement

The fuel gauge IC on the GT-i9080 stores learned capacity data from the previous cell in non-volatile memory. After installing a new cell, that stored data no longer matches the actual cell characteristics, so the percentage readout is unreliable — often reading high and then dropping suddenly. Drain the phone completely until it powers off on its own, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without unplugging early. That single full cycle forces the IC to rewrite its reference curve against the new cell. Percentage accuracy stabilises within one or two cycles after that.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Galaxy Grand powers off around 25% after fitting the new battery — is the cell faulty?

The cell is not faulty. The fuel gauge IC on the GT-i9080 is still referencing the discharge curve it learned from the original degraded cell, so it cannot predict where the new cell's voltage cliff sits under screen and modem load. When actual cell voltage hits the board's cutoff threshold, the phone shuts down regardless of what the percentage display shows. Run one full discharge to automatic shutoff, then charge to 100% — the coulomb counter rewrites its reference data and the early shutdowns stop.

The phone won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for months before I installed it — what's happening?

A Li-ion cell stored uncharged for an extended period can drop below 2.5V per cell, which triggers BMS lockout to prevent damage. The board will not respond to the power button in this state. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 15–20 minutes before attempting to power on. Once the BMS sees voltage climb above its recovery threshold (typically around 2.8–3.0V), it releases the lockout and normal charging resumes.

Fast charging stopped working on the first charge after I put in this battery — was it working before?

Yes, this is expected on the first cycle with a new cell. The charge IC on the Galaxy Grand performs a qualification handshake before enabling higher charge current, and it defaults to standard charge rate when it encounters an uncalibrated cell with no stored history. Complete one full charge at the standard rate without interrupting it. On subsequent cycles the IC re-evaluates the cell's impedance profile and re-enables the faster charge path automatically.
