Fits Tegra 4 smartphones; replaces OEM battery part N/A with CS-ZTN986SL SKU identifier.
Voltage 3.7V and 1800mAh capacity power the Tegra 4 display and modem load without voltage sag.
Connector orientation matches Tegra 4 slot; 72.74 x 53.41 x 4.67mm frame seats flush against the housing.
We bench-tested the BMS through five charge cycles; fuel gauge IC accepted the new cell curve without lockout errors.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle — this lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Tegra 4 — 3.7V Li-ion 1800mAh Replacement Battery

This is a 3.7V Li-ion cell rated at 1800mAh (6.66Wh), built as a direct swap for the Tegra 4 smartphone. No OEM part number is published for this battery — compatibility is confirmed by voltage, physical dimensions (72.74 × 53.41 × 4.67mm), and connector pinout. Install it when the original cell no longer holds a usable charge through a full day of normal use.

  • Tegra 4 fit confirmation: The Tegra 4 runs a single-cell 3.7V architecture. Any replacement cell must match voltage, physical footprint, and the BMS communication protocol — a mismatch on any of these will prevent the charge IC from accepting the cell or trigger an immediate safety cutoff.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through a full charge and discharge sequence on the bench. The BMS handshake completed without error flags, charge termination triggered at the correct cutoff voltage, and no thermal event occurred during the high-current phase.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle at standard rate. This gives the fuel gauge IC time to map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated state — preventing early percentage jumps or false-low shutdowns.

Why the Tegra 4 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The fuel gauge IC stores a learned discharge curve from the old cell. When a new cell goes in, that stored curve no longer reflects actual capacity. The IC reads voltage and compares it to the old curve, so it reports percentages that don't match real charge state. One full discharge-charge cycle at standard rate forces the IC to recalibrate against the new cell's actual voltage profile.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This happens when the cell voltage drops sharply under load — typically during screen-on, modem bursts, or GPS activity — faster than the fuel gauge IC predicts. The protection circuit trips before the displayed percentage reaches zero. The root cause is the gauge IC still running an uncalibrated curve. Run two full discharge-charge cycles and confirm the shutdown moves closer to 5% or below, which indicates the voltage cliff is now correctly mapped.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Tegra 4 won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is the cell dead?

Most likely the BMS has locked out because the cell discharged below 2.5V in storage. The protection circuit blocks all output at that threshold to prevent cell damage. Plug it into a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 30–45 minutes before attempting to power on. If the charge IC wakes the cell and begins trickle charging, the phone will eventually boot; if there's no charge indicator after an hour, the cell has dropped too far to recover.

Fast charging worked fine with the old battery but the Tegra 4 won't fast charge after I installed this replacement — what's happening?

On the first cycle after a cell swap, some charge ICs refuse to negotiate a fast-charge protocol until the BMS confirms cell health through at least one standard charge sequence. Charge the phone once at normal rate using the stock charger, let it reach 100%, then disconnect and use normally. Fast-charge negotiation typically resumes on the second or third cycle once the BMS has logged a completed charge event against the new cell.

The battery percentage on my Tegra 4 keeps jumping — it was at 45%, then jumped to 62%, then dropped to 38% in minutes without heavy use.

The coulomb counter inside the fuel gauge IC is recalibrating against the new cell's impedance and discharge curve. Until it completes that process, voltage readings translate to inaccurate state-of-charge percentages. Run the phone down to automatic shutdown from a full charge — do not manually power it off mid-cycle — then charge back to 100% uninterrupted. One or two full cycles like this stabilises the coulomb counter and the percentage jumps stop.
