Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Samsung NP-SF511 / QX410 Series — 11.1V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (AA-PN3NC6F)

This is an 11.1V 5900mAh (65.49Wh) lithium-polymer replacement battery for the Samsung NP-SF511, QX310, QX410, and QX411 laptop series. It replaces OEM part numbers AA-PN3NC6F, AA-PN3VC6B, BA43-00270A, and BA92-07034A. The cell dimensions are 210.00 × 100.40 × 12.25mm — measure your original before fitting if you are unsure which variant is installed.

  • NP-SF511 / QX series compatibility: These models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol, which is why a single cell services the entire platform. The 11.1V rail matches the voltage regulation circuitry common across this generation of Samsung ultraportables.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on an NP-SF511 unit. The BMS negotiated correctly, charge termination triggered at full capacity, and the protection circuit responded normally to simulated over-discharge events.
  • Post-installation calibration on Samsung NP-SF511: After fitting, run one full discharge until the laptop hibernates on low-battery cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap on this platform.

BIOS reporting poor battery health immediately after fitting a new cell

Samsung's BIOS on the NP-SF511 and QX series reads EEPROM data embedded in the original battery to track wear history. When a new cell is installed, that EEPROM data either doesn't match or shows an unfamiliar signature, so the BIOS flags the battery as degraded or unknown — even though the cell is new. This is not a fault with the replacement. Running one full discharge-to-hibernate cycle followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% prompts the BIOS to write fresh calibration data and clear the warning on the next boot.

Laptop shuts down abruptly while the OS still shows 20–30% charge remaining

This happens when the fuel gauge IC hasn't calibrated against the new cell's actual voltage curve. The IC was tuned to the old, degraded cell and miscalculates the remaining capacity on a fresher cell. Under full CPU and display load, the voltage drops faster than the gauge predicts, and the laptop hits the hardware low-voltage cutoff before the OS percentage reaches zero. To fix it, let the laptop discharge fully to automatic hibernate, then charge to 100% without interruption — repeat for two to three cycles until the OS percentage tracks accurately. After calibration, the shutdown should no longer occur above 5–8% remaining.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Samsung NP-SF511 shows the replacement battery as "0% available (plugged in, not charging)" — what's happening?

The fuel gauge IC on the NP-SF511 reads the new cell as empty and sometimes locks the charge circuit until it receives a valid voltage handshake. Disconnect the AC adapter, leave it off for 60 seconds, then reconnect — this forces the charge controller to re-poll the battery. If the issue persists, hold the power button for 15 seconds with the battery fitted and no AC adapter to drain residual board power, then reconnect AC and let it charge from a cold start. The charge IC should recognise the cell and begin charging normally above 11.1V resting voltage.

The Wh rating shown in Windows battery report doesn't match the 65.49Wh spec — is the cell faulty?

No — this is an EEPROM mismatch, not a capacity fault. The EEPROM on the original Samsung cell stored the rated Wh value that Windows reads and displays. The replacement cell's EEPROM may carry a slightly different rated value from the manufacturer, which Windows reports verbatim. Actual delivered capacity depends on cell chemistry and load, not what the EEPROM declares. Run two full calibration cycles — discharge to hibernate, charge to 100% — and verify actual runtime improves even if the reported Wh figure stays slightly different.

After fitting the new battery, charge stops at 80% and won't go higher no matter how long it's left on AC — is this a battery fault?

On several NP-SF511 and QX-series units, Samsung's BIOS includes a charge-limit setting that caps charging at 80% to reduce cell wear over time. Check Samsung's Battery Life Extender utility — if it's installed and active, this is the cause, not the replacement cell. Open the utility and disable the charge limit, or navigate to Samsung Settings and turn off the "Battery life extender" option. After disabling, reconnect AC and the charge controller will continue past 80% to full capacity.
