Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Samsung SM-W2014 / SM-G9098 — 3.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (B190AC)

This is a 3.8V, 1700mAh Li-ion battery replacing part numbers B190AC and B190AE. It fits the Samsung SM-W2014, SM-G9098, SM-G9092, and Uniscope U — all share the same cell footprint and connector. Dimensions are 52.00 × 45.00 × 6.20mm, matching the original cavity exactly.

  • SM-W2014 / SM-G9098 compatibility: These models share the same 3.8V voltage rail, physical connector, and BMS handshake protocol. The B190AC part number covers all four fit models — no adapter or modification needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on SM-G9098 hardware. The BMS accepted charge without fault codes, and the protection circuit engaged correctly at the low-voltage cutoff threshold.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map its coulomb counter against the new cell's actual discharge curve before high-current charging begins on an uncalibrated cell.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the SM-W2014 after a cell swap

This happens because the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. When the new cell hits a voltage cliff under modem or display load, the IC hasn't learned where that cliff sits yet. The phone reads 25% but the cell voltage has already dropped below the minimum load threshold. One full discharge-charge cycle — without fast charging — resets the coulomb counter and eliminates most of these premature shutdowns.

USB-PD fast charge not accepted on the first cycle after replacement

The charge IC on the SM-W2014 runs an impedance check before it steps up to fast-charge current. A new cell has higher internal impedance than a broken-in one, and the IC can interpret that as a fault condition and drop back to standard 5V charging. This is not a defect — it clears after the first full cycle. If fast charge still doesn't engage after one complete cycle, check that the cable and adapter support the correct USB-PD profile; a standard USB-A cable will lock the charge IC to slow charge regardless of battery condition.

Frequently Asked Questions

My SM-W2014 keeps shutting off at around 25% after I put in the new battery — is the battery faulty?

The battery is not faulty. The fuel gauge IC is still running off the old cell's discharge curve, so it misreads where the voltage cliff sits under load. Run one full discharge-charge cycle with fast charging turned off — this forces the coulomb counter to remap against the new cell. After that cycle, the reported percentage and the actual cutoff point should align.

The phone won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months before install — what happened?

Extended storage at a low state of charge can push the cell below 2.5V, triggering the BMS lockout. The BMS locks out to prevent a deep-discharged cell from taking charge current it can't safely absorb. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a computer USB port — and leave it for 20 to 30 minutes without pressing any buttons. If the cell has enough residual capacity to recover, the BMS will release the lockout and the phone will show a charging indicator.

The battery percentage is jumping around erratically — it goes from 60% to 45% to 55% in a few minutes without much use.

Erratic percentage jumps are a fuel gauge IC recalibration issue, not a cell defect. The IC's internal model of the cell capacity is mismatched to the new cell, so it corrects and overcorrects as load conditions change. Let the phone discharge fully until it shuts itself off, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without unplugging early. That one complete cycle synchronises the coulomb counter to the new cell's actual capacity.
