Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

LG Optimus M+ / MS695 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BL-48ON)
This is a 3.7V, 1300mAh Li-ion cell built to replace the BL-48ON battery in the LG Optimus M+ (MS695) and Optimus Plus (AS695). It fits the original battery bay and connects to the same three-pin contacts the phone uses for charge monitoring. Capacity matches the factory spec at 4.81Wh.
- MS695 and AS695 platform fit: Both the Optimus M+ and Optimus Plus share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and charge IC handshake — one cell covers the full variant group without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the MS695 charge IC and confirmed the BMS accepted charge termination correctly, with no false-full cutoff on the first cycle.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After installing this cell, run one complete discharge to shutdown followed by a full uninterrupted charge before using the phone normally. The Optimus M+ fuel gauge IC needs this full cycle to map its coulomb counter to the new cell's discharge curve — skipping it causes the percentage display to drift or jump in the first few days.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Optimus M+ after a cell swap
The Optimus M+ fuel gauge IC stores a charge curve calibrated to the original cell. When you swap in a new cell, the IC does not automatically reset its internal model. Under modem load — an active call or data session — the new cell's actual voltage drops faster than the IC predicts, and the phone shuts off before the display reaches 0%. One full discharge-to-shutdown and charge-to-100% cycle forces the coulomb counter to relearn the new curve. After that cycle, shutdowns below 20% stop.
Phone feels warm near the battery during the first charge after replacement
A new Li-ion cell has slightly higher internal impedance than a broken-in one. On first charge, the Optimus M+ charge IC pushes current into that higher impedance, which dissipates as heat. This is normal and resolves after one or two full cycles as the cell's impedance settles. If the back cover stays warm past the second full charge, check that no label or debris is caught between the cell and the battery cover restricting airflow. Surface temperature should drop to ambient within a cycle or two — if it does not, reseat the cell and confirm the contacts are clean.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why does my Optimus M+ show 25% battery and then shut off with no warning?
The fuel gauge IC on the MS695 is still using the discharge curve from your old, degraded cell. The new cell's voltage drops faster under modem or screen load than the IC expects, so it never triggers the low-battery warning before voltage collapses. Run one full discharge to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this forces the coulomb counter to recalibrate against the new cell. After that single cycle, the percentage reading and shutdown behaviour track correctly.
The Optimus M+ won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is the cell dead?
Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage, and if voltage dropped below roughly 2.5V the BMS locks out to prevent damage to the cell. The phone will not respond to the power button in this state. Connect the phone to a charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing anything — the charge IC will trickle current into the cell until voltage rises above the BMS recovery threshold, after which the phone will boot normally. If there is no response after 45 minutes on charge, try a different cable and confirm the charger is delivering at least 5V.
Battery percentage jumps around erratically — goes from 60% to 45% in seconds, then back up — what's causing that?
This is the fuel gauge IC recalibrating against an unfamiliar cell. The original calibration data stored in the Optimus M+ is tied to the old cell's impedance and capacity curve — the new cell reads differently, so the IC oscillates between estimates while it gathers discharge data. It is not a fault with the cell itself. Complete two full discharge-and-charge cycles without interrupting the charge mid-way, and the IC will settle on a stable curve. Percentage reporting stabilises after the second complete cycle.
