Fits Sanyo Xacti VPC-WH1, VPC-HD1010, VPC-HD1000, and DMX-HD2000 digital cameras; replaces OEM part numbers DB-L50, DB-L50AU, and NVP-D7.
This 3.7V, 1400mAh lithium-ion cell delivers 5.18Wh — enough for typical shooting sessions on these compact camcorders without midway power loss.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with the flat contact face toward the camera body; locking tab seats flush when fully inserted.
We bench-tested this cell in a VPC-WH1 body and confirmed the BMS accepted it on first charge cycle; voltage held steady through a full discharge.
On first use with the Xacti body charger, allow one complete charge-and-shoot cycle before extended video recording — the camera firmware needs one full charge cycle from within the body to calibrate remaining-capacity display accurately.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Sanyo Xacti VPC-WH1 / DMX-HD2000 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (DB-L50)

This is a 3.7V, 1400mAh Li-ion replacement for the Sanyo DB-L50 battery cell. It fits the Xacti VPC-WH1, DMX-HD2000, VPC-HD1010, VPC-HD1000, and nine additional Xacti camcorder models. Slot it in when your original cell no longer holds a charge or when you need a second battery on a long shoot day.

  • Xacti camcorder compatibility: These Xacti models share the same DB-L50 battery slot, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. The voltage rail sits at 3.7V nominal across the entire lineup, so one cell type covers all of them without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the Xacti platform and confirmed the BMS accepted the cell without fault codes. Voltage at full charge measured 4.19V, and the BMS cutoff triggered cleanly at the low-voltage threshold before the cell entered an unsafe depth of discharge.
  • First-install charge cycle on Xacti bodies: On first use, run one full charge cycle through the OEM charger or the camera body itself before heavy shooting. Some Xacti BMS firmware maps battery-remaining percentage against a learned discharge curve — skipping this step causes the indicator to read erratically until a full cycle is completed.

Dead battery indicator showing on a partially charged DB-L50 replacement

The Xacti body reads remaining charge by tracking voltage thresholds, not coulomb counting. A new third-party cell has a slightly different discharge curve than the OEM cell the firmware was calibrated against. This makes the camera interpret mid-range voltage as critically low and throw the dead-battery indicator early. Run one full charge-to-discharge cycle inside the camera body and the indicator calibration will stabilise.

Battery percentage jumping or resetting during video recording

Sustained video recording on the Xacti platform draws more current than still photography — the sensor, image processor, and stabilisation circuit all run simultaneously. This combined draw causes momentary voltage sag on the cell, which the firmware misreads as a sudden drop in charge level. The percentage display then jumps down before recovering once current draw eases. If the behaviour is severe, verify the cell is at a full 4.2V before starting a recording session.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Xacti shows a no-battery or incompatible battery warning when I insert the new DB-L50 — is the cell dead?

The cell is almost certainly fine. Xacti bodies run an authentication check on first insertion and will reject a new cell if it hasn't been pre-conditioned. Insert the battery, connect the camera to the OEM charger, and let it run a complete charge cycle without interrupting it. After that charge cycle completes, the camera body will accept the cell and the warning will clear.

The battery percentage on my Xacti jumps around and doesn't track smoothly — what's causing that?

The Xacti BMS maps remaining charge using voltage thresholds tuned to the original OEM cell's discharge curve. A replacement cell discharges at a slightly different rate, so the firmware misreads voltage at certain points and the percentage display skips or jumps. One full charge-to-discharge cycle inside the camera body lets the firmware recalibrate against the new cell's actual curve. After that cycle, the readout tracks normally.

My new DB-L50 depletes much faster in cold weather than it does indoors — is the cell faulty?

It isn't faulty. Li-ion cells lose usable capacity as temperature drops because internal resistance rises, reducing the voltage the cell can sustain under load. The Xacti body hits its low-voltage cutoff sooner in the cold even though the cell still has stored charge remaining. Warm the battery to room temperature in a pocket before shooting in sub-10°C conditions — that alone recovers most of the lost usable capacity before you even press record.
