Fits SBC-202 and SBC-3775 cordless phone handsets; replaces OEM part SBC-202.
3.6V and 700mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers rated capacity for typical daily talk and standby cycles.
Connector slides vertically into the battery compartment on the handset back; no locking tab present.
We bench-tested the pack through five charge cycles on a standard DECT base charger; BMS voltage stabilized at 3.6V after cycle three.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — Ni-MH packs require slow charging to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

SBC SBC-202 / SBC-3775 — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (SBC-202)

This is a 3.6V, 700mAh Ni-MH rechargeable battery for the SBC SBC-202 and SBC-3775 cordless phone handsets. It replaces the original pack when the handset can no longer hold a charge through a normal call. Voltage, connector, and physical dimensions match the OEM spec — 45.20 x 31.16 x 10.50mm.

  • SBC-202 and SBC-3775 compatibility: Both handsets run the same 3.6V single-cell NiMH platform and share an identical battery bay and connector pinout, so one pack covers both models without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles on the SBC-202 handset. The base station accepted the pack without error, and the BMS held within the 3.6V nominal rail through each cycle.
  • First-charge protocol for NiMH cordless packs: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. NiMH cells shipped in partial-charge storage state need a slow, uninterrupted first charge to reach rated 700mAh capacity.

Talk time shorter than the original battery after replacement

New NiMH cells arrive from storage at partial charge and need three to five full charge-discharge cycles before reaching rated capacity. On cycle one, talk time will be noticeably shorter than the original pack at its peak. Each subsequent full charge closes the gap. By cycle five, the pack should be at or near the 700mAh rated capacity — if it is not, confirm the handset is fully seated and the base contacts are clean.

Base station shows no-charge or error light with new pack installed

NiMH packs stored at low voltage can fall below the minimum threshold the base station uses to detect a valid battery. The charger circuit reads the pack as absent or faulty and throws an error light instead of starting a charge cycle. Remove the handset, clean both the handset and base contacts with a dry cloth, then reseat firmly. If the error clears but reappears, the pack voltage is too low for the base to accept — connect a compatible NiMH charger externally at 3.6V to prime the pack before returning it to the base.

Frequently Asked Questions

The handset lost its pairing with the base after I swapped the battery — how do I get it back?

Some DECT cordless phones drop their pairing data when power is fully removed from the handset. The phone stores pairing information in volatile memory that clears without a battery present. Re-register the handset through the base station's paging or registration menu — on most SBC models this means holding the base Find/Page button for five seconds until the handset enters registration mode.

My SBC-202 handset drains overnight even when it's sitting in the base — is the battery faulty?

This is usually a seating issue, not a faulty cell. If the handset is not fully clicked into the base, the charging contacts do not make a solid connection and the handset runs on battery instead of charging. Check that the handset sits flush and that the base contact pins are clean and spring-loaded. If seating is correct and drain continues, check standby power settings in the handset menu — some SBC models have an eco-mode that reduces base transmit power and lowers standby draw.

The handset range dropped noticeably after the battery swap — was the old battery somehow boosting the signal?

The original battery was not boosting anything — range drop after a swap points to voltage sag under RF load. When a NiMH cell is not yet conditioned, its internal resistance is higher than rated, and the transmit circuit draws a brief high-current burst every time the handset communicates with the base. That draws the cell voltage down below the threshold the RF module needs to maintain full output power. Run three to five full charge-discharge cycles and check range again — internal resistance drops as the cells condition, and transmit power stabilises.
