Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Shark Cordless Stratos IZ840H / IZ862H — 25.2V Li-ion Replacement Battery (XBATR725SL)
This 25.2V 2000mAh Li-ion battery replaces part number XBATR725SL in Shark Cordless Stratos stick vacuums. It fits the IZ840H, IZ862H, and IZ862H T6 among other Stratos-series models. Voltage and capacity match OEM spec exactly.
- Stratos-series platform fit: The IZ840H and IZ862H share a 25.2V six-cell architecture with a common connector and BMS communication protocol. Any battery in this group must match that handshake or the vacuum will refuse to power on — this cell does.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through full charge-discharge cycles on a Stratos unit, watching BMS cutoff thresholds under simulated motor load. The cell hit rated voltage at full charge and held above the BMS low-voltage cutoff under sustained suction draw.
- Dock charging habit on Stratos models: Do not leave the vacuum sitting on the charging dock between uses. Stratos chargers continue passing a trickle current once the pack is full. That constant low-level charge accelerates capacity fade faster than regular full-cycle use. Charge to full, then remove the vacuum from the dock.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low
This happens when the motor draws more current than the BMS allows under restricted airflow — not because the pack is depleted. A partially blocked filter forces the motor to work harder, spiking current draw above the BMS overcurrent threshold. The BMS responds by reducing output voltage to the motor, which reads as lost suction even with a full charge showing. Clean or replace the foam and felt filters first, then retest suction strength.
Motor cutting out mid-clean then recovering after a pause
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When sustained suction restriction pushes motor current past the pack's trip threshold, the BMS shuts output off to protect the cells. After a short pause the BMS resets, power returns, and the cycle repeats if the restriction is still present. Check the filter, the dust cup, and the brush roll for blockages before assuming the battery is at fault. A clean airflow path keeps current draw within the BMS's operating window.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Shark Stratos battery fades noticeably after a few months — it used to last much longer on a full charge. What causes that?
Continuous dock charging is the most common cause. The Stratos charger keeps a trickle current flowing once the pack is full, and that sustained low-level charge degrades cell capacity faster than normal use cycles. Pull the vacuum off the dock once it reaches full charge rather than leaving it docked between every use. Capacity partially recovers with a few full charge-discharge cycles after you change that habit, but cells already degraded past roughly 70% of original capacity will not recover — that is when a replacement pack is needed.
The Stratos cuts out for a few seconds then comes back on its own while I'm vacuuming carpet. The battery indicator still shows full. What's happening?
That is a BMS overcurrent trip caused by restricted airflow, not a faulty battery. Heavy carpet or a partially blocked filter forces the motor to draw more current than the BMS allows, so it cuts power to protect the cells, then resets after a brief pause. Remove the foam filter, felt filter, and check the brush roll for tangled debris before blaming the pack. Once airflow is clear, sustained motor draw drops back within the BMS threshold and the cutting-out stops.
I fitted the replacement battery but the Stratos won't charge — the charger light just flashes or shows no activity. What do I check?
A flashing or inactive charger light usually means the BMS in the new pack has not completed its handshake with the charger. Seat the battery firmly — the connector pins need full contact to establish communication. If it still won't charge, discharge the pack slightly by running the vacuum for 30 seconds, then reconnect to the charger; some BMS units need to see a load before they initialise the charge cycle. If the charger light remains unresponsive after that, verify the charger output reads 29V or above with a multimeter at the charging contacts.
