Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Shark ION Robot 700 Series — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (RVBAT700)
This 14.4V 2600mAh Li-ion battery replaces OEM part RVBAT700 in the Shark ION Robot 700 series robotic vacuum. It fits the RV700, RV720, RV750, and five additional ION Robot 700 variants. The battery slots into the same bay and connects to the same BMS interface as the original cell.
- RV700 / RV720 / RV750 platform compatibility: These models share a common 14.4V power rail, identical battery bay dimensions, and the same BMS handshake protocol. One cell design covers the full 700 series without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on an RV700 unit and cycled it through full cleaning routines on both hard floor and carpet modes. The BMS handled motor-start current draw without tripping overcurrent protection, and the charger dock accepted the battery without error codes.
- Dock charging discipline on the RV700: The ION Robot 700 docks automatically after each run and continues drawing trickle charge indefinitely. Remove the battery or power down the dock between scheduled cleaning days — continuous dock contact degrades cell capacity faster than normal cycling.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low
The RV700 motor draws significantly more current when airflow is restricted — a partially blocked filter forces the motor to compensate, pulling the cell voltage down early. The BMS reads this voltage sag as low capacity and reduces power to the motor before the indicator LED shows critical. The vacuum appears to lose suction mid-cycle even with a charged battery. Clean or replace the filter first, then recharge the cell to full and retest — motor draw should return to rated levels.
Motor cutting out and recovering mid-cycle on carpet
On thicker carpets the RV700 brush roll can stall briefly, spiking current draw above the BMS overcurrent threshold. The BMS trips, cuts motor power for a few seconds, then resets — the vacuum appears to pause and restart on its own. This is not a faulty battery. Clear any hair or debris wrapped around the brush roll, as blockages make sustained overcurrent trips more frequent. If the issue continues after clearing the brush roll, check that the filter is clean, since restricted airflow compounds the current spike.

Frequently Asked Questions
The RV700 is docking and charging every night but the cleaning cycle seems shorter than it used to be — is the new battery already failing?
Continuous dock charging is the most common cause of accelerated capacity fade in the ION Robot 700 series. The charger keeps delivering a trickle current even after the cell is full, and sustained low-level charging degrades lithium-ion cells faster than normal charge-discharge cycles. The battery itself is not defective — the charging habit is the issue. Remove the battery from the dock or power the dock off between cleaning days and charge only when the battery is depleted.
The RV700 suction feels weak straight after a full charge — could the filter be causing this?
A blocked filter forces the motor to work harder to pull airflow through, which raises current draw and drops cell voltage faster than normal operation. The BMS interprets the voltage drop as low capacity and throttles motor power, so the vacuum feels underpowered even on a fresh charge. Remove and clean the filter — if it is visibly clogged or damaged, replace it. After fitting a clean filter, charge the battery to full and run a test cycle to confirm suction returns to normal.
The replacement battery sits in the dock but the charging indicator never lights up — what should I check first?
The RV700 charger expects a specific BMS handshake before it begins charging. If the indicator stays dark, reseat the battery firmly in the dock to ensure the contacts are fully engaged. Check the dock contacts and battery terminals for dust or oxidation and wipe them with a dry cloth. If the charger still shows no activity, test the dock with a known working battery to confirm the dock itself is functioning — if the dock charges a known battery, the replacement cell's BMS initialisation may need a direct plug-in charge at 16.8V before the dock will recognise it.
