Fits Shark WV251, WV250 WANDVAC cordless stick vacuums; replaces OEM part XSBT251, XSBT251EU, XSBT250, XSBT250J.
10.8V 2500mAh lithium-ion cell delivers 27Wh—enough for one full cleaning cycle on standard carpet without mid-job motor sag.
Slide connector inserts vertically into dock slot with positive contact pins facing the charger; locking tab seats flush when fully seated.
Bench testing showed clean BMS negotiation with Shark dock chargers; no fault codes, stable 10.8V output under sustained motor draw.
Do not leave the vacuum on the charging dock continuously—trickle charging degrades cell capacity faster than full-charge-then-remove cycles.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Shark WV251 / WV250 WANDVAC — 10.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (XSBT251)

This is a 10.8V, 2500mAh lithium-ion battery for the Shark WV251, WV251UK, and WV250 WANDVAC handheld cordless vacuums. It replaces OEM part numbers XSBT251, XSBT251EU, XSBT250, and XSBT250J. When the original cell can no longer hold a charge, this unit restores suction power without replacing the vacuum body.

  • WV251 and WV250 WANDVAC fit: Both models share the same 10.8V battery bay, connector orientation, and BMS communication protocol. A single battery covers the full WANDVAC platform without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on the WV251 and confirmed the BMS handshake initialised correctly, suction motor spun to full speed, and the charge cycle terminated cleanly at 12.6V without error codes.
  • Dock charging behaviour on WANDVAC: The WANDVAC charges via its wall-mount dock. Leaving the vacuum seated on the dock continuously forces the cell into a low-level trickle state that accelerates capacity loss. Charge fully, then remove from the dock until the next use.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

The WV251 motor draws significantly more current when airflow is restricted — a partially clogged filter or blocked inlet forces the motor to work harder, pulling the cell voltage down faster than normal. The battery indicator reads remaining charge, not motor load, so it can still show mid-range while suction feels weak. This is not a battery fault. Clean the filter, clear the inlet path, and the voltage under load stabilises. After clearing the blockage, a full charge cycle confirms whether the cell has also degraded.

Motor cuts out mid-clean and then restarts after a few seconds

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a motor fault. When sustained airflow restriction forces current above the cell's rated discharge threshold, the BMS cuts power to protect the cell and resets after a brief cool-down. Repeated trips shorten cell lifespan over time. Check and clean the filter before attributing the behaviour to the battery — if trips continue on a clear filter, verify the replacement cell is delivering stable current at 10.8V under load.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Shark WV251 loses suction halfway through cleaning but the battery light still shows plenty of charge — why?

The battery indicator shows stored charge, not how well the cell holds voltage under motor load. A partially blocked filter forces the motor to draw more current, which drags cell voltage down and cuts suction before the indicator moves. Clean the pre-motor filter and check the inlet for blockages first. If suction recovers after clearing the restriction, the battery is not the cause.

The motor on my WV250 WANDVAC keeps cutting out for a few seconds then restarts on its own — is the battery failing?

That pattern is a BMS overcurrent trip. The battery's protection circuit shuts off current when the motor draws above the rated threshold — usually because a clogged filter is forcing the motor to work harder — then resets once current drops. Clear the filter and run the vacuum again. If the cut-outs stop, the cell is fine; if they continue on a clean filter, check that the replacement battery is holding a stable 10.8V output under load.

My WANDVAC battery fades quickly after a few months — could leaving it on the dock be the cause?

Yes. The WANDVAC's wall-mount dock keeps the cell in a continuous low-level charge state when the vacuum sits docked permanently. Li-ion cells degrade faster under constant trickle charge than they do through normal charge-and-discharge cycles. Charge the battery to full, remove the vacuum from the dock, and return it only when it needs charging again. Switching to this cycle from the point of installing the new cell will preserve its capacity significantly longer.
