Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Sharp IG-DM1Z-W Portable Plasmacluster Ion Generator — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (IZ-BTDM1E)
This is a 3.7V Li-ion replacement battery rated at 600mAh (2.22Wh), built to the IZ-BTDM1E specification. It fits the Sharp Portable Plasmacluster Ion Generator IG-DM1Z-W — a compact personal air ionization unit. When the original cell degrades and can no longer hold enough charge to sustain the ion generation circuit, this replacement restores the device to normal operation.
- IG-DM1Z-W platform fit: The IG-DM1Z-W runs a single-cell 3.7V nominal rail. The BMS on this unit authenticates cell chemistry and voltage on startup. This replacement matches those parameters exactly — the connector pinout and cell dimensions (39.15 × 31.30 × 5.80mm) align with the OEM cavity without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran the IZ-BTDM1E cell through charge cycling on the IG-DM1Z-W platform. The BMS accepted the cell on first insertion, completed its self-test sequence, and the ion generator resumed normal output. Capacity readout stabilised after two full charge cycles.
- Post-installation startup protocol: After fitting this battery, let the device complete its full power-on self-test without interruption. The IG-DM1Z-W BMS runs a verification pass at startup — cutting power mid-sequence trips a false battery fault that persists until the next clean reboot.
IG-DM1Z-W alarming low battery immediately after a confirmed full charge
The BMS on the IG-DM1Z-W stores charge thresholds calibrated to the OEM cell's internal resistance profile. A new replacement cell presents a different resistance signature on first boot, which the BMS can misread as a low-state cell even at full charge. This is a calibration gap, not a defective battery. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle — charge to full, allow the device to run until it self-terminates, then recharge fully. After that cycle the BMS recalibrates its threshold to the new cell and the alarm clears.
IG-DM1Z-W will not power on after the replacement battery sat in storage
Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage at roughly 2–3% per month. If the IZ-BTDM1E cell dropped below approximately 2.5V before installation, the IG-DM1Z-W BMS will block power-on entirely as a protection measure — this is normal behaviour, not a failed battery. Connect the device to its charger for a minimum of 30 minutes before attempting to power on. The charge IC applies a low-current recovery pulse below 3.0V, which brings the cell back above the BMS re-enable threshold. Once voltage recovers past 3.0V, the unit will boot normally.

Frequently Asked Questions
The IG-DM1Z-W shut off on its own during use — is the new battery defective?
Unlikely defective. In the first 10 charge cycles, a new Li-ion cell has higher internal resistance than a broken-in cell, which causes voltage to sag under the ion generator's load. When voltage dips below the BMS cutoff threshold — typically around 3.0V under load — the device shuts off as protection. This is a new-cell characteristic, not a fault. Continue using and fully charging the battery through 8–10 cycles and the sag will reduce as the cell's internal resistance settles.
The charge indicator on the IG-DM1Z-W never reaches 100% on the first charge — is something wrong?
Nothing is wrong. The charge IC applies a conservative current limit when it encounters a new cell with an unlearned resistance profile, which causes the charge cycle to terminate slightly early on the first pass. The indicator reporting 95–98% on first charge is the IC being cautious, not the battery underperforming. Run one complete charge-to-discharge-to-charge cycle and the charge IC will recalculate the cell's full capacity endpoint — the indicator will reach 100% from the second cycle onward.
The IG-DM1Z-W is showing a battery fault error after swapping to the IZ-BTDM1E replacement — how do I clear it?
The BMS learn cycle was not completed at installation. The IG-DM1Z-W logs a fault when the BMS has not yet verified the new cell through one full charge-discharge sequence. Power the device off completely, charge it fully without interruption, allow it to run until it self-terminates on low battery, then recharge to 100%. After that one full cycle the BMS marks the cell as verified and the fault clears on the next clean boot.
