Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Siemens Rexton WL200AP — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (21221-10296051)

This is a 3.7V 850mAh Li-ion battery for the Siemens Rexton and WL200AP hearing aid remote control. The remote lets users adjust volume and switch hearing aid programs without touching the devices directly. When this battery depletes, that wireless control is gone — this replacement restores it.

  • Rexton and WL200AP remote fit: Both the Rexton and WL200AP remote controls share OEM part number 21221-10296051, the same 3.7V cell architecture, and the same connector footprint — one battery covers both units without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the bench. The protection circuit tripped correctly at low-voltage cutoff and accepted a clean full charge without thermal anomalies.
  • Single-cell remote replacement tip: This remote runs on one cell, so there is no pairing concern — but before reinstalling the cover, confirm the polarity markers on the battery align with the markings inside the battery bay. Li-ion cells installed backwards will not charge and may trigger the protection circuit immediately.

Why the Rexton remote stops responding before the battery is fully flat

The IR LED in this remote requires a minimum voltage to fire a signal strong enough for the hearing aid to detect. As the Li-ion cell ages and internal resistance climbs, voltage sags under the brief current draw of each button press — even if the resting voltage looks acceptable on a meter. The remote appears dead but the cell is not truly empty. Replacing the cell at this point, rather than waiting for complete failure, is the correct call.

Remote works after install but range drops to a few centimetres

Short range after a new battery install usually means the cell seated but is not making firm contact with one terminal. A loose connection limits current to the IR LED, reducing output power without killing the remote entirely. Remove the battery, check for debris or corrosion on the contact pads, reseat the cell firmly, and confirm the cover clicks fully closed. The remote should respond reliably at normal arm's-length distance — roughly 0.5 to 1 metre — once contact is solid.

Frequently Asked Questions

I put the new battery in and the Rexton remote does nothing at all — no response from the hearing aids.

The most likely cause is reversed polarity. Li-ion cells installed backwards will not power the remote, and the protection circuit blocks any output. Remove the battery, check the + and − symbols inside the battery bay, and reseat the cell with the correct orientation. The remote should respond immediately on the first button press.

My Rexton remote worked for a few weeks, then the battery drained much faster than I expected — is that normal?

Faster-than-expected drain on a single-cell remote like this is usually caused by a stuck or partially depressed button creating a constant low-level draw. Check that no button is jammed or wedged under the casing after reassembly. If all buttons move freely and drain continues, measure the cell voltage after a full charge — it should read 4.1–4.2V. A cell that drops below 3.7V within days at rest has a defect and should be replaced.

The Rexton remote only works when I hold it directly against the hearing aid — why would a new battery cause that?

A new battery does not cause this — it points to a contact seating issue. If one terminal has intermittent contact, the IR LED gets reduced current and the signal barely reaches beyond a few centimetres. Open the battery bay, clean both contact pads with a dry cloth, press the cell firmly into place, and make sure the back cover is fully snapped shut. Test at 50 cm — that is the normal operating distance for this remote.
