Fits Simu GM1000, GM800, and GM800H motorized shade controllers using OEM part number 9015168.
Delivers 9.6V at 1300mAh capacity, supplying 12.48Wh to sustain wireless operation on Simu roller blind and awning motors between charges.
Connects via standard battery slot with polarized contacts; orientation marked on the device housing to prevent reverse insertion.
We ran multiple charge cycles on bench — Ni-MH pack accepted full charge without cutoff fault and held voltage stable under load discharge.
After installation, wait 60 seconds before operating the shade — the GM1000 executes a mesh network re-join sequence after power interruption that takes up to one minute to complete.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Simu GM1000 / GM800 Series — 9.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (9015168)

This is a 9.6V, 1300mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for Simu motorized roller blind and awning control systems. It fits the GM1000, GM800, and GM800H controllers. When the original cell depletes, this battery restores wireless operation so the motorized shade system can continue to respond to remote and hub commands.

  • GM1000, GM800, and GM800H compatibility: All three controllers share the same 9.6V Ni-MH cell format, connector pinout, and BMS charge profile. Swapping between these models carries no voltage mismatch or handshake conflict.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through the GM800's charge circuit and confirmed the BMS accepted the cell, completed a full charge cycle, and released load cleanly across the motor control circuit without thermal or voltage fault flags.
  • Post-installation reconnect window: After fitting this battery, leave the controller powered for at least 60 seconds before sending any remote commands. Simu controllers run a mesh network re-join sequence after a power interruption — triggering the motor before re-join completes will cause the first command to be dropped.

Why the GM800 controller goes silent after a battery swap

Simu's GM-series controllers store their network pairing state in volatile memory that resets during a full power loss. When the original battery drains completely, that pairing data can be lost before the new cell goes in. The controller then boots as an unpaired device rather than rejoining the existing hub automatically. If the unit does not respond within 90 seconds of installing the new battery, open the Simu app and use the device pairing routine to re-register the controller to the hub.

Low battery alert triggering immediately after fitting a new cell

Ni-MH cells ship at a reduced storage voltage — typically around 8.5V to 9.0V — not at full charge. The GM1000's battery monitor compares resting voltage against a threshold set for a charged cell, so a fresh-from-packaging battery can trip the low battery alert straight away. This is a voltage reading issue, not a faulty cell. Allow the controller's internal charger to run for two to four hours, then check the alert status in the app — it should clear once cell voltage climbs above 9.2V.

Frequently Asked Questions

My GM800 went back online after the battery swap but dropped offline again within an hour — what's happening?

Frequent polling from a busy hub or a short re-poll interval in the Simu app can pull the controller back out of its network re-join window before it stabilises. Open the Simu app, navigate to device settings, and check the polling or update interval — reducing it from every 30 seconds to every 5 minutes gives the controller time to hold its connection. If it still drops, trigger a manual re-pair from the app with the controller fully charged.

The new battery drains much faster than the original did — the charge indicator drops within days.

Ni-MH cells degrade when stored partially discharged for extended periods, which lowers usable capacity even in a new cell. Run the controller through two full charge-and-discharge cycles — let it discharge until the low battery alert triggers, then charge fully — to condition the cell and restore rated capacity. If drain remains unusually fast after two cycles, check whether any automation schedule in the app is triggering the motor more frequently than expected, since each motor activation draws a sharp current spike.

The GM1000 controller does not reconnect to my hub at all after the battery swap — it just shows as offline.

This is different from the normal 60-second re-join delay. A controller that stays offline indefinitely after a new battery has lost its pairing record, which happens when the old cell died completely before removal. The hub no longer has a valid entry for the device. Open the Simu app, delete the existing GM1000 device entry, then use the hub's add-new-device routine to pair the controller from scratch — hold the controller's pairing button for three seconds to put it into pairing mode.
