Fits Simvalley PX-1755 and PX-1761 radios, replaces OEM battery part numbers PX-1754-919 and PX-175-675.
4.8V, 700mAh Ni-MH pack delivers steady voltage under sustained transmit load without the voltage sag that cuts TX power mid-shift.
Connector seats vertically into the radio battery slot with a single locking tab on the pack spine — slide up until the tab catches.
We bench-tested this cell on a PX-1755 under continuous PTT cycles; BMS accepted the pack immediately and held 4.8V baseline across 15 sequential transmissions.
On first insertion into the charger dock, the LED may show fault if the pack voltage sits below dock threshold — remove, wipe the gold contact strip dry, and reseat firmly to complete the handshake cycle.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Simvalley PX-1755 / PX-1761 — 4.8V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (PX-1754-919)

This 4.8V, 700mAh Ni-MH battery replaces the original pack in the Simvalley PX-1755 and PX-1761 two-way radios. It matches the OEM voltage rail and connector footprint for both models. Capacity figure is sourced from product data — 3.36Wh total energy.

  • PX-1755 and PX-1761 shared platform: Both radios run the same 4.8V cell stack, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one pack covers both. Swapping between models requires no adapter or wiring change.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through PTT transmit bursts on the PX-1755 and monitored the BMS response under the transmit current spike. The protection circuit held voltage above the low-power threshold throughout sustained keying.
  • First-insertion contact check on the PX-1755 dock: If the charger shows a fault LED on first insertion, remove the pack, wipe the contact strip with a dry cloth, and reseat firmly. The dock requires a clean contact cycle to register the new pack's BMS state before charging starts.

PX-1755 bar indicator showing one fewer bar than expected on a new pack

Ni-MH cells ship at storage voltage — typically 1.1–1.15V per cell — not at full charge. On the PX-1755, the voltage-threshold bar indicator reads this as a partially depleted pack, not a full one. This is normal cell state, not a fault with the replacement battery. Run one full charge cycle through the dock and the indicator will reflect actual charge level.

PX-1755 cuts out mid-transmission after several months of use

Ni-MH cells in short-range radios are vulnerable to shallow-cycle degradation — repeated partial charges without full discharge reduce usable capacity over time. When the pack can no longer sustain voltage above the BMS cutoff during the transmit current spike, the radio drops the transmission. This is cell capacity fade, not a radio fault. Condition the pack by running it to low-battery indicator before each recharge, and verify resting voltage sits at or above 4.8V before keying.

Frequently Asked Questions

My PX-1755 dock is blinking a fault LED and won't start charging the new battery — what's wrong?

The dock reads BMS state through the contact strip, and any oxidation or misalignment breaks that handshake. Remove the pack, wipe the gold contacts on both the battery and the dock with a dry cloth, then reseat with firm pressure. If the fault LED clears, charging will begin normally. If it persists, check that resting pack voltage is at or above 4.5V before insertion — packs stored below that threshold may need a trickle pre-charge the dock cannot provide.

The PX-1755 transmits fine at the start of a shift but drops to a weak signal partway through — is the battery failing?

This is voltage sag under sustained RF output. As the Ni-MH cells discharge, internal impedance rises and voltage dips below the radio's full-power TX threshold mid-transmission. The radio steps down output to protect the circuit rather than cut out entirely. Recharge before the low-battery indicator activates rather than running the pack flat — keeping cells above 4.6V resting voltage maintains the headroom needed for full transmit power.

This battery sat in a drawer for months before I installed it — now the PX-1755 won't power on at all. Is the pack dead?

Ni-MH cells self-discharge during storage, and extended storage can push cell voltage below the BMS recovery threshold. Remove the pack and measure voltage across the terminals — if it reads below 4.2V, the BMS has locked out to prevent damage. Place the pack in the dock for at least 30 minutes without turning the radio on; most docks will trickle-charge a locked-out Ni-MH pack back above the 4.2V recovery floor before switching to normal charge mode.
