Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

SmartFren Wide — 3.7V Li-ion 1300mAh Replacement Battery
This is a 3.7V Li-ion cell rated at 1300mAh (4.81Wh), built to replace the original battery in the SmartFren Wide smartphone. The Wide uses a removable battery format, so swapping the cell restores capacity when the original no longer holds charge. Dimensions are 43.50 × 47.00 × 6.10mm — confirm your existing cell matches before installing.
- SmartFren Wide platform fit: The Wide shares a single-cell 3.7V nominal architecture common to budget Android handsets of this generation. The connector pinout and physical footprint are consistent across the Wide range, so one cell covers the variant lineup without adapters or modifications.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on a smartphone test rig. The BMS accepted charge at standard rates and held voltage above the low-battery cutoff threshold through full discharge without tripping prematurely.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle. This gives the fuel gauge IC time to map its coulomb counter against the new cell's actual discharge curve before any high-current charging session pushes current into an uncalibrated cell.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the SmartFren Wide after a cell swap
This happens when the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's voltage-versus-capacity curve. Under modem or screen load, current draw spikes and the new cell's voltage drops faster than the IC expects — triggering an emergency shutdown even though the display still shows charge remaining. The phone isn't defective; the gauge just doesn't know what 20% looks like on the new cell yet. Run two full discharge-to-charge cycles without interruption and the shutdowns should stop.
Phone gets warm near the battery during the first few charges
A new Li-ion cell typically has higher internal impedance than a well-cycled one. During the first few charges, the charge IC works harder to push current through that higher resistance, generating more heat than you'd see with the original aged cell. This is normal and reduces after the first two to three cycles as internal impedance drops. If warmth persists beyond three cycles or the case becomes hot to the touch, stop charging and check that the connector is fully seated.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is my SmartFren Wide showing the wrong battery percentage after fitting the new cell?
The fuel gauge IC inside the Wide stores a discharge curve calibrated to the original cell — it doesn't automatically reset when you swap the battery. Because the new cell's voltage-versus-capacity profile is different from the worn cell it replaced, the coulomb counter reports inaccurate percentages until it re-learns the curve. Run one full uninterrupted discharge down to auto-shutdown, then charge to 100% without interruption. After that single cycle the percentage readings stabilise.
The SmartFren Wide won't power on after the new battery sat in a drawer for a few months — what happened?
Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage, and if the cell dropped below approximately 2.5V the BMS entered lockout mode to prevent damage from over-discharge. The phone won't respond to the power button because the BMS is blocking output until the cell recovers. Connect the charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing anything — most charge ICs will trickle current into a locked-out cell to bring it back above the recovery threshold. Once the voltage climbs above 3.0V the BMS releases and the phone should boot normally.
Fast charging stopped working on the SmartFren Wide after I put in the replacement battery — is the charger broken?
The charger is likely fine. On the first cycle after a cell swap, the phone's charge IC sometimes defaults to standard charge rates because it hasn't yet confirmed the new cell's BMS handshake. This is a deliberate safety fallback, not a fault. Complete one full standard-rate charge cycle to 100%, then unplug and reboot the phone before connecting the fast charger again — the IC re-negotiates the charge protocol on the next session and fast charging resumes.
