Fits Smith & Nephew Renasys Go negative pressure wound therapy systems, replacing OEM part LG144 and 510001-144.
14.4V and 2600mAh capacity deliver full therapy cycles on this portable clinical device without mid-session power loss.
Battery installs into the side cartridge slot with a spring-loaded connector; orientation is marked on the device housing.
We bench-tested this cell in the Renasys Go charge dock; the BMS accepted the new pack after two contact cycles without fault codes.
Allow the device to complete its power-on self-test cycle uninterrupted after installation—the medical firmware verifies cell chemistry and capacity before enabling therapy output.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Smith & Nephew Renasys Go — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (LG144)

This 14.4V 2600mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original power cell in the Smith & Nephew Renasys Go portable negative pressure wound therapy system. It matches the OEM part numbers LG144 and 510001-144. The Renasys Go draws consistent power during wound therapy cycles, and a depleted or degraded original battery will interrupt treatment.

  • Renasys Go platform fit: The Renasys Go uses a 14.4V battery rail with a BMS handshake that authenticates cell chemistry at startup. This replacement uses the same Li-ion chemistry and connector configuration so the device controller accepts it through its self-test sequence without flagging an incompatible source alarm.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through the Renasys Go power-on self-test and full charge cycle on the bench. The BMS initialised correctly, accepted the charge without fault codes, and held voltage within the expected range across a full discharge profile matching typical therapy load.
  • Post-installation self-test protocol: After fitting this battery, let the Renasys Go complete its full power-on self-test cycle without interrupting it. The device runs BMS verification at startup, and cutting power mid-sequence can register a false battery fault that persists until the next clean reboot.

Why the Renasys Go alarms low battery immediately after a confirmed full charge

The Renasys Go BMS applies a charge-acceptance threshold calibrated to the OEM cell's internal resistance profile. A new replacement cell has a slightly different resistance signature on its first cycle, which can cause the BMS to report capacity below the alarm threshold even when the cell is physically full. This is a BMS learning behaviour, not a fault with the battery. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle on the device and the BMS recalibrates its threshold to the new cell's actual profile.

Renasys Go not powering on after battery has been in storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge over time, and if a replacement battery has sat in storage, its resting voltage may drop below the Renasys Go BMS recovery threshold — typically around 10V on a 14.4V pack. Below that threshold, the BMS enters deep-discharge protection and blocks startup entirely. Place the battery on a compatible 14.4V Li-ion charger and allow a trickle charge to bring the cell above the recovery floor before reinserting it into the device. Once the pack reads above 11V, normal charging resumes.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Renasys Go is shutting off mid-therapy session even though the battery showed charged before use — what's happening?

New Li-ion cells have higher internal resistance in their first 10 cycles, which causes voltage to sag harder under the Renasys Go's sustained therapy load than it will once the cell is broken in. The device's low-voltage cutoff trips on that sag even though the pack still holds charge. This is not a faulty battery — it resolves as the cell completes its initial cycles. Run two to three full charge-discharge cycles on the device before relying on it for uninterrupted clinical use.

The charge indicator on the Renasys Go won't reach 100% on the first charge with the new battery — is something wrong?

The Renasys Go charge IC applies a conservative termination current limit when it encounters a new cell with an unfamiliar resistance profile. It terminates the charge cycle early as a protective measure, which is why the indicator stops short of 100%. Remove the battery, reinsert it, and start a second full charge cycle. By the second cycle the charge IC has enough data from the first pass to apply the correct termination point and reach full capacity.

The Renasys Go failed its self-test after we swapped the battery — the alarm won't clear. What do we do?

The self-test failure persists because the BMS learn cycle did not complete — either the device was powered off during the post-insertion verification sequence, or the new cell's voltage at insertion was below the self-test pass threshold. Power the device off completely, confirm the battery is seated and locked, then power on and leave it undisturbed through the full startup sequence. If the alarm clears, run a full charge cycle to complete BMS initialisation before returning the device to clinical use.
