Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Sony Ericsson Xperia E4 Series — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (LIS1574ERPC)
This 3.8V, 2300mAh Li-Polymer cell replaces the original LIS1574ERPC battery in the Sony Ericsson Xperia E4 family. It fits the Xperia E4, E4g, E4 Dual, and E4 Dual HSPA, among other variants in that lineup. Dimensions are 87.80 × 52.10 × 3.70mm — matching the original tray footprint exactly.
- Xperia E4 family compatibility: The E4, E4g, and E4 Dual variants all share the same battery tray geometry, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. One cell covers the entire platform because Sony Ericsson standardised the power rail and charge IC across that generation.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on an E4 Dual unit. The BMS accepted the cell without error flags, charge termination triggered correctly at 4.35V, and the fuel gauge IC tracked state-of-charge without erratic jumps after the first full cycle.
- Fuel gauge recalibration after installation: On first use after fitting this cell, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle at standard current. This lets the fuel gauge IC map its coulomb counter against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated register.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Xperia E4 after a cell swap
The Xperia E4's modem and display together pull enough current that a new, uncalibrated cell can sag below the BMS cutoff voltage before the percentage reaches zero. The fuel gauge IC is still working from the old cell's discharge curve, so it shows 25% when the actual cell voltage has already dropped to the cutoff threshold under load. This is not a fault in the replacement cell — it is a calibration mismatch between the coulomb counter and the new cell's internal resistance profile. Run one full discharge from 100% to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100%, and the BMS will remap the cutoff point correctly.
Xperia E4 showing wrong battery percentage after replacement
When the fuel gauge IC was calibrated against the old degraded cell, its stored discharge curve no longer matches the new cell's voltage-vs-capacity profile. The result is percentage readings that jump — most often a sudden drop from 40% to 15%, or a reading that stalls at 1% for an extended period. The fix is a single full calibration cycle: charge to 100%, use the phone normally until it shuts down automatically, then charge back to 100% without interruption. After that cycle, the coulomb counter recalibrates to the new cell and percentage reporting stabilises.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Xperia E4 won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is it dead?
A Li-Polymer cell that drops below 2.5V triggers a BMS lockout to prevent damage, and a battery stored uncharged for months can easily fall below that threshold. The phone won't respond to the power button because the BMS is blocking current flow to the board. Plug it into a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 30 to 45 minutes before pressing power; the charge IC will trickle current into the cell until it clears the 2.5V floor and the BMS releases. If the charge LED does not appear within an hour, try a different cable and confirm the charge port is clean.
Fast charging stopped working on my Xperia E4 right after I fitted this battery — the phone charges slowly now.
On the first charge cycle after a cell swap, the Xperia E4's charge IC may default to standard current until it completes one handshake cycle with the new cell's BMS. This is a safety behaviour — the IC runs a low-current check before agreeing to elevated charge rates on an unrecognised cell. Charge the phone fully at whatever rate it accepts, discharge it normally, then charge again — fast charging typically resumes from the second cycle onward. If it does not return, check that the charger outputs at least 5V/1.5A, as the E4 requires that minimum to negotiate the higher charge rate.
The Xperia E4 feels warm near the battery compartment while charging — is that normal with a new cell?
A new Li-Polymer cell has slightly higher internal impedance than a run-in cell, which means the charge IC dissipates a little more energy as heat during the first few cycles. That warmth near the back cover is normal and reduces as the cell completes its initial cycles and impedance settles. What is not normal is heat concentrated at the USB port or the top of the phone — that points to a charge IC or cable fault, not the cell. If the back stays only warm to the touch and cools once charging completes, no action is needed; the impedance will drop after three to five full cycles.
