Fits Sony Xperia 1 V and Xperia 1 VI 5G smartphones; replaces original SNYSHD4 battery.
3.89V 4850mAh Li-Polymer cell restores full capacity on devices showing degraded charge retention or sudden shutdowns.
Connector seats flush into the battery slot with a single locking tab oriented toward the upper edge.
We bench-tested this pack across five full discharge cycles; the BMS accepted USB-PD negotiation on cycle two with stable voltage delivery.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle so the fuel gauge IC recalibrates against the new cell curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Sony Xperia 1 V / 1 VI 5G — 3.89V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (SNYSHD4)

This is a 3.89V, 4850mAh (18.87Wh) Li-Polymer cell that replaces the original SNYSHD4 battery in the Sony Xperia 1 V and Xperia 1 VI 5G. It fits both models because they share the same connector pinout, BMS handshake protocol, and physical cell envelope. Capacity figures are taken directly from product data — not estimated.

  • Xperia 1 V and 1 VI 5G compatibility: Both models use the same SNYSHD4 cell format, voltage rail, and fuel gauge IC communication protocol. The same replacement cell satisfies the BMS check on both devices without any firmware conflict.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on the Xperia 1 V and confirmed the BMS accepted the cell, fast charge protocols initialised correctly after one calibration cycle, and the coulomb counter tracked capacity without erratic jumps.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After installation, disable fast charging and complete one full discharge-to-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell — otherwise the percentage display will read inaccurately from the start.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Xperia 1 V after a cell swap

This happens when the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. The new cell hits a voltage cliff under modem or display load at a state-of-charge the IC hasn't mapped yet. The phone reads 25% but the cell voltage has already dropped below the safe cutoff threshold. One full discharge-charge cycle without fast charging resets the coulomb counter and eliminates this behaviour.

USB-PD fast charge not working on first cycle after replacement

On the first charge after installation, the charge IC on the Xperia 1 V may refuse to negotiate the USB-PD fast charge contract with an uncalibrated cell. It defaults to standard 5V charging as a protection measure. This is expected behaviour — complete the first full cycle at standard rate. Fast charge typically resumes normally from the second cycle once the BMS has logged a baseline impedance reading for the new cell.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Xperia 1 V shuts off at around 25% after fitting the new battery — what's causing this?

The fuel gauge IC is still using the discharge curve it learned from the old, degraded cell. When the new cell voltage drops sharply under modem or screen load, the IC hasn't mapped that point yet and the phone hits the hardware cutoff before the percentage reaches zero. Run one complete discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge fully to 100% with fast charging turned off. After that cycle the coulomb counter recalibrates and the early shutdowns stop.

The battery percentage on my Xperia 1 V is jumping around erratically — sometimes it gains 5% without charging. Is the new cell faulty?

The cell is not faulty — the fuel gauge IC is recalibrating against the new cell's discharge curve and hasn't built a stable model yet. This is most visible in the first two or three charge cycles after a cell swap. Complete two full discharge-charge cycles without fast charging and the IC will lock onto the correct curve. After that, percentage reporting stabilises and the erratic jumps disappear.

The Xperia 1 V won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat uninstalled for several weeks — is the cell dead?

A cell left uninstalled in storage can self-discharge below 2.5V per cell, which triggers BMS lockout to prevent damage. The phone will not respond to the power button in this state. Connect the phone to a charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing anything — the charge IC trickle-charges the cell up from the lockout threshold before normal boot is allowed. If the battery icon appears on screen during this period, the recovery is working. Once voltage reaches approximately 3.0V the BMS releases and the phone will power on normally.
