Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Motorola Moto Edge 2024 / Edge 50 Fusion 5G — 3.91V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (QC50 / SB18E08902)
This 3.91V, 4850mAh (18.96Wh) Li-Polymer cell replaces the original QC50 battery in the Moto Edge 2024, Moto Edge 2024 5G, Moto Edge 50 Fusion 5G, and XT2405-1. It is a direct internal swap for phones showing swollen batteries, sudden shutdowns, or cells that no longer hold a charge. Voltage and capacity match the OEM spec exactly.
- Moto Edge 2024 and Edge 50 Fusion 5G compatibility: Both variants run the same 3.91V power rail, use the same QC50 cell footprint, and share the SB18E08902 vendor code. The BMS handshake and connector pinout are identical across this model family, so one cell covers all listed variants.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the Moto Edge 2024 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without fault flags, fast-charge negotiation completed normally after one full cycle, and the fuel gauge IC tracked state-of-charge without erratic jumps.
- Fuel gauge recalibration after swap: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes power into an uncalibrated cell — preventing false percentage readings from the first day.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Moto Edge 2024 after a cell swap
This happens when the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. The phone thinks it has charge remaining, but the new cell hits its voltage floor under modem or display load and collapses before the OS can trigger a soft shutdown. It is not a fault with the replacement cell — it is a calibration mismatch. Run one full discharge to 0% and a full charge to 100% without interruption to reset the coulomb counter, and the shutdowns will stop.
USB-PD fast charge not working on the first cycle after replacement
The Moto Edge 2024 charge IC runs a handshake with the battery BMS on the first cycle after a new cell is detected. Until that handshake completes, the phone defaults to standard 5V charging and fast charge appears inactive. This is normal behaviour — not a wiring fault or incompatible cell. Fully discharge the phone once, then connect to the original Motorola charger and let it charge to 100% uninterrupted. Fast charge will negotiate correctly from the second cycle onward.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Moto Edge 2024 keeps shutting off around 25% after I put in the new battery — is the cell faulty?
The cell is not faulty. The fuel gauge IC is still running the discharge curve from the old cell, so voltage collapses under modem or screen load before the OS can log a proper shutdown. Run one full uninterrupted discharge down to 0% followed by a full charge to 100% — this resets the coulomb counter and the shutdowns stop.
The battery percentage on my Moto Edge 2024 is jumping around erratically after the swap — it went from 60% to 40% in two minutes.
The fuel gauge IC recalibrates to a new cell's discharge profile over the first one or two cycles. Until it does, state-of-charge estimates are pulled from the old cell's stored curve, which does not match the new cell and causes percentage jumps. Let the phone complete two full discharge-to-charge cycles without interruption. After the second cycle the percentage will track steadily.
My Moto Edge 2024 won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months before I installed it.
If cell voltage dropped below approximately 2.5V during storage, the BMS enters a lockout state and blocks normal charge input to protect the cell. Connect the phone to its Motorola charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing any buttons — most Motorola charge ICs apply a trickle recovery current that brings the cell back above the BMS threshold. Once voltage clears 3.0V the phone will boot normally.
