Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

T-Mobile Spark — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This 3.7V, 700mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original cell in the T-Mobile Spark smartphone. It fits the compact Spark handset and restores power for calls, messaging, and standard smartphone functions. Capacity is 700mAh (2.59Wh) — matched to the original specification.
- Spark cell fitment: The Spark uses a compact 37.68 x 37.24 x 5.41mm cell at 3.7V nominal. This replacement matches that footprint and voltage rail exactly, so the connector seats correctly and the charge IC sees the expected impedance from the first cycle.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through a full charge-discharge sequence and monitored BMS handshake behaviour. The protection circuit responded correctly to charge termination and load cutoff at rated thresholds.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After fitting, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge down to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This gives the fuel gauge IC a clean reference cycle against the new cell's actual discharge curve before high-current charging begins.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This is a voltage cliff problem, not a capacity problem. The Spark's modem and display draw a combined current spike the degraded — or freshly fitted but uncalibrated — cell cannot sustain under load. Voltage drops below the BMS cutoff threshold faster than the fuel gauge IC predicted, so the phone cuts out while the percentage still reads high. Run two full discharge-charge cycles without interruption. After the second cycle, the coulomb counter recalibrates and shutdown events at 20–30% typically stop.
Phone shows 0% and will not power on after storage
If the battery sat discharged for an extended period, the cell voltage may have dropped below 2.5V and triggered a BMS lockout. The phone will not respond to a short press of the power button. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a USB hub — and leave it untouched for 20–30 minutes. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell until it recovers above the BMS re-enable threshold, at which point normal charging resumes. If the screen remains dark after 40 minutes on wall power, check the charging port for debris before assuming the cell is unrecoverable.

Frequently Asked Questions
The T-Mobile Spark percentage jumps around erratically after I put in the new battery — is something wrong with it?
Nothing is wrong with the cell. The fuel gauge IC on the Spark is still calibrated to the discharge curve of the old, degraded battery. When it reads the new cell's voltage, the mapping is off and the percentage bounces. Run one full, uninterrupted discharge down to automatic shutoff, then charge to 100% without unplugging. After that single reference cycle the coulomb counter resets against the new cell and the percentage stabilises.
My Spark gets noticeably warm near the battery during the first few charges after the swap — should I be concerned?
A new Li-ion cell has slightly higher internal impedance than a cell that has been cycled. The charge IC pushes current into higher resistance on those first cycles, which generates more heat than you'd see after break-in. It is normal for the first two or three charges. If the phone is still running warm on the fifth charge or hotter than uncomfortable to hold, stop charging and check that the battery connector is fully seated — a partial connection increases resistance and heat at the contact point.
Fast charging stopped working on my Spark after the battery replacement — it only charges slowly now.
On the first cycle after a cell swap, the USB-PD or proprietary charge protocol handshake can fail because the BMS on the new cell hasn't established a recognised communication state with the charge IC yet. Plug into a wall charger, let it complete one full slow charge to 100%, then unplug and discharge to automatic shutoff. Reconnect to the fast charger after that full cycle — the BMS will have completed its initialisation and the fast charge protocol should re-engage. Confirm the adapter output is at least 5V/1A before assuming the charger is the problem.
