Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Alcatel OT-606 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (CAB31C0000C1)
This is a 3.7V, 700mAh Li-ion cell that fits the Alcatel OT-606, OT-606C, OT-606A, and OT-606 Sparq. It replaces the original CAB31C0000C1 (also cross-referenced as OT-BY23) when the existing cell has degraded and can no longer hold adequate charge. Physical dimensions are 37.68 × 37.24 × 5.41mm — measure your original before fitting if you are unsure.
- OT-606 variant coverage: The OT-606, OT-606C, OT-606A, and OT-606 Sparq all share the same battery bay dimensions, voltage rail, and connector pinout. One cell fits the full family without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full discharge-charge sequences and confirmed the BMS communicates correctly with the charge IC — protection cutoffs for overcurrent and over-voltage triggered at expected thresholds.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After fitting this cell, disable fast charging if your charger supports it, then run one complete discharge down to automatic shutdown followed by a full charge. The fuel gauge IC on the OT-606 calibrates its coulomb counter against the actual discharge curve of the new cell on that first cycle — skipping this step causes erratic percentage readings.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the OT-606 after a cell swap
The OT-606's fuel gauge IC retains the discharge curve of the old, degraded cell after a swap. When the new cell's actual resting voltage no longer matches the IC's stored curve, the phone misreads remaining capacity. Under modem or screen load — both are high-current draws for a 700mAh cell — the battery voltage dips sharply, and the phone hits its hardware undervoltage cutoff before the OS registers low battery. Run one full discharge-charge cycle without interruption. After that cycle, the coulomb counter resets to the new cell's actual curve and the premature shutdowns stop.
OT-606 not powering on after the replacement battery sat in storage
Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage. If this battery shipped or sat unused long enough to drop below approximately 2.5V, the BMS enters lockout mode to prevent cell damage — the phone will show no signs of life when you press the power button. Connect the phone to a wall charger, not a USB port, and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing any buttons. The charge IC trickle-charges the cell back above the BMS re-enable threshold, typically around 2.9V, at which point normal charging resumes and the phone powers on.

Frequently Asked Questions
My OT-606 shows 25% battery and then shuts off without warning — is this a faulty cell?
This is a fuel gauge calibration issue, not a faulty cell. The OT-606's coulomb counter is still referencing the discharge curve from the old battery, so it misreports the new cell's state of charge. Under modem or display load, the real voltage drops below the hardware cutoff before the OS shows a low-battery warning. Run one uninterrupted full discharge to automatic shutdown, then charge to 100% — the fuel gauge resets its curve against the new cell and the shutdowns stop.
The battery percentage on my OT-606 jumps around randomly after fitting the new cell — 60% one minute, 45% the next.
The fuel gauge IC recalibrates its internal model against the new cell's actual impedance and discharge curve over the first few cycles. Until that recalibration completes, the percentage readout is unreliable. Do not top up or interrupt charging during this period. Complete two full discharge-charge cycles — by the end of the second cycle, the readings stabilise.
My OT-606 gets noticeably warm near the battery during the first few charges after replacement — should I be concerned?
A new Li-ion cell has higher internal impedance than a broken-in one, so the charge IC dissipates more energy as heat during the first few charge cycles. This is expected behaviour and reduces after three to five cycles as the cell's impedance settles. If the phone becomes too hot to hold comfortably, remove it from the charger and let it cool to room temperature before continuing. Warmth that persists beyond five full cycles warrants checking that the battery connector is fully seated and making clean contact.
