Fits T-Plus Europa 40i cordless phone; replaces OEM battery CS-HST319CL.
3.6V and 1200mAh capacity restore full talk time and standby duration on this handset.
Connector type is proprietary slot-lock; handset seats firmly into base station cradle.
We bench-tested this NiMH pack through five charge cycles; BMS voltage stabilized at 3.6V under standby draw.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH cordless phone batteries require a slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

T-Plus Europa 40i — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 3.6V Ni-MH battery rated at 1200mAh (4.32Wh), built to fit the T-Plus Europa 40i cordless handset. It replaces the original cell pack when the handset stops holding a charge or stops powering on altogether. Dimensions are 56.32 x 42.96 x 20.38mm — confirm against your existing pack before installing.

  • Europa 40i handset fit: The Europa 40i uses a 3.6V three-cell Ni-MH configuration to meet the handset's DECT transmit power and standby draw requirements. Swapping to a different voltage or chemistry trips the charging circuit and causes error indicators at the base.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on a cordless phone test rig. The BMS accepted charge current from a standard DECT base station without cutoff events, and cell voltage held stable across the discharge curve.
  • First-charge conditioning for Ni-MH: After fitting the battery, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. Ni-MH cells shipped from storage sit below rated capacity — a slow, uninterrupted first charge lets all three cells balance and reach full capacity together.

Talk time shorter than the original battery after replacement

New Ni-MH cells typically deliver 60–70% of rated capacity on the first few cycles. This is normal — it is not a fault with the pack. The cells need three to five full charge and discharge cycles before the internal chemistry stabilises and capacity reaches the rated 1200mAh. Run the handset down to low-battery indicator, then return it to the base for a full charge each time. Talk time improves noticeably by cycle three.

Base station showing no charge or error light with new pack installed

Ni-MH packs lose voltage during storage and shipping. If the cell voltage drops too low, some DECT base stations reject the charge cycle and flag an error instead of charging. Remove the handset, hold the power button for five seconds to drain residual circuit charge, then reseat firmly in the base. If the base still shows an error after 30 minutes, the pack voltage may need a short external boost charge to 3.2V before the base station's charge controller will accept it.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Europa 40i handset lost its pairing with the base after I swapped the battery — how do I get it back?

Some DECT handsets clear their pairing memory when power is fully removed, which happens the moment you pull the battery. This is a handset firmware behaviour, not a battery fault. Re-register the handset using the base station's paging or registration button — typically held for three seconds until the base flashes. Check your Europa 40i manual for the exact key sequence, as the registration step varies by firmware version.

The handset is draining flat overnight even though it's sitting in the base — what's causing that?

This points to a seating issue, not a cell fault. If the handset contacts are not fully aligned with the base charging pins, the handset runs on battery in standby rather than drawing from the base. Remove the handset, clean the gold contacts on both the handset and base with a dry cloth, then reseat until you hear or feel it click into position. Check that the base charge indicator light activates — if it does not light up within two minutes of seating, recheck contact alignment.

The Europa 40i range seems shorter after fitting this new battery — is that a battery issue?

Yes, and it is temporary. DECT handsets regulate transmit power based on available battery voltage. A new Ni-MH pack not yet fully conditioned sags under RF transmit load, causing the handset to reduce output power and shorten range. After three to five full charge and discharge cycles, cell voltage stabilises and transmit power returns to normal. Run the handset to the low-battery warning, charge fully each time, and range will recover — target a rested open-circuit voltage of 3.6V after a full charge.
