Fits Taurus Saugroboter Striker Slim VER. II robotic vacuum, replaces OEM part 079710000 and 086240000.
14.4V Ni-MH at 1500mAh delivers 21.6Wh to sustain the suction motor and navigation circuit through full cleaning passes.
Connector slides straight onto the dock contact pins with a single locking tab — verify alignment before seating.
We bench-tested the pack on a Striker Slim dock; BMS accepted full charge cycle without cutoff or fault indication.
Do not leave this vacuum on the charging dock permanently — continuous trickle charge degrades Ni-MH capacity faster than removing it when full.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Taurus Saugroboter Striker Slim VER. II — 14.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (079710000)

This is a 14.4V, 1500mAh Ni-MH battery for the Taurus Saugroboter Striker Slim VER. II robotic vacuum cleaner. It also covers the Striker Slim Ver II and T270 variants sharing the same battery bay and connector. OEM part numbers 079710000 and 086240000 both apply to this cell.

  • T270 and Striker Slim VER. II platform: These variants share the same 14.4V rail, physical battery bay, and BMS handshake profile, so one cell covers all three fit models without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the Striker Slim platform. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes and the suction motor reached normal operating draw throughout the test.
  • Dock charging habit on robotic vacuums: Do not leave the Striker Slim permanently on its charging dock. Ni-MH cells in continuous trickle charge degrade faster than those charged only when depleted. Charge to full, then remove the unit from the dock until the next cleaning cycle.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low on the Striker Slim

Ni-MH cells show voltage sag under load before the state-of-charge indicator registers a problem. On a robotic vacuum, a partially blocked filter forces the suction motor to draw above its rated current, accelerating that sag. The battery's BMS then reduces output to protect the cell, and the user sees weaker suction while the indicator still shows charge remaining. Clean or replace the filter first — if suction recovers, the cell is not the cause.

Motor cutting out mid-cycle and then recovering after a pause

This pattern is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When suction is restricted — blocked brushroll, clogged filter, or carpet pile jamming the intake — current draw spikes beyond the BMS threshold and the circuit opens. The unit pauses, the BMS resets after the load drops, and the motor restarts. Clear the restriction, then retest. If the cutout continues with an unobstructed intake, measure resting cell voltage — it should sit at or above 14.4V after a full charge.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Striker Slim runs for a short time then the motor cuts out — is the new battery faulty?

Not necessarily. The BMS trips on overcurrent before the battery is depleted, which looks identical to a weak cell. On the Striker Slim, a restricted brushroll or blocked filter is the most common trigger — the suction motor spikes well above rated draw when airflow is choked. Clear the intake and filter, then recharge the battery fully and run a cycle. If the cutout stops, the cell is fine; if it continues with clear airflow, measure pack voltage after charge — it should read at or above 14.4V.

The Striker Slim's suction feels weak even with a new battery and a full charge — what's causing that?

A partially blocked filter is the most likely cause, not the battery. When airflow is restricted, the motor works harder, voltage sags under that elevated load, and suction drops even though the battery indicator still shows charge. Ni-MH cells are especially sensitive to sustained high-current draw. Remove and clean or replace the filter, then run another cycle to confirm suction returns to normal.

The replacement battery lost noticeable capacity after only a few weeks — what went wrong?

Continuous dock charging is the most common cause of early capacity fade in robotic vacuums. When the Striker Slim sits on the dock permanently, the charger applies a trickle charge that degrades Ni-MH cells faster than regular charge-and-discharge cycling. Remove the unit from the dock once it reaches full charge and only return it to dock when the battery is nearly depleted. That single habit change significantly slows capacity loss on Ni-MH chemistry.
