Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Solac AE2529 / AE2529 2JG — 29.6V Li-ion Replacement Battery (S00001987)
This is a 29.6V, 3500mAh (103.6Wh) lithium-ion battery for the Solac AE2529 and AE2529 2JG cordless vacuum cleaners. It replaces OEM part S00001987 directly. The battery slots into the same bay and connects to the same BMS handshake points as the original cell pack.
- AE2529 and AE2529 2JG coverage: Both models run the same 29.6V Li-ion pack with an identical connector and BMS communication protocol. The voltage rail, pin layout, and charge cutoff logic are shared across the two variants, so one replacement cell covers both.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through full charge and discharge runs on the AE2529 motor platform. The BMS held steady cutoff at the correct lower voltage threshold without nuisance trips, and the charger handshake completed normally on every cycle.
- Dock charging behaviour on the AE2529: Do not leave this vacuum sitting on the charging dock permanently. Continuous dock charge on Li-ion packs causes measurable capacity fade over weeks — faster than normal cycle wear. Charge to full, then remove from the dock until the next use.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low on the AE2529
This is a voltage sag issue, not a capacity problem. When the filter is partially blocked or the floor nozzle is restricted, the motor draws above its rated current to maintain airflow. That excess draw pulls the pack voltage down faster than the indicator registers. The battery indicator reads state of charge at rest voltage — it lags behind the real-time sag under load. Clean the filter and check the nozzle for blockage first; if suction recovers fully, the battery is fine.
AE2529 motor cuts out mid-clean then recovers after a few seconds
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a failed battery. A sustained blockage — blocked filter, jammed brush roll, or sealed nozzle — forces the motor to pull current beyond the BMS protection threshold. The BMS disconnects the output to protect the cells, then resets once current demand drops. The fix is to clear the restriction: remove the filter and tap it clean, check the brush roll for hair wrap, and verify the nozzle pathway is clear. If the motor runs without cutting out after that, the pack is operating correctly.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Solac AE2529 has noticeably less suction now than when the battery was new — the indicator still shows a full charge. What's happening?
A partially blocked filter is the most likely cause. When airflow is restricted, the motor works harder and draws more current than rated, which drags pack voltage down under load even when the resting charge reads full. Remove the filter, clean it thoroughly, and check the floor nozzle for debris before concluding the battery has faded. If suction returns to normal after clearing the restriction, the pack is not the issue.
The AE2529 motor keeps cutting out for a few seconds then starts again — is this the battery failing?
That pattern is a BMS overcurrent trip, not cell failure. When the motor is forced to pull sustained high current — usually from a blocked filter or a jammed brush roll — the BMS cuts output to protect the cells, then resets once load drops. Check the filter and brush roll first. If the motor runs continuously after clearing the blockage, the battery is working as intended.
We left the Solac AE2529 on the dock between uses and the battery seems to hold less charge now. Can it recover?
Continuous dock charging causes trickle-charge stress on Li-ion cells, and some of that capacity loss is permanent. However, running two or three full discharge-and-recharge cycles away from the dock can recover partial capacity if the degradation is mild. Charge to full, disconnect from the dock, run the vacuum until the low-battery cutoff triggers, then recharge fully — repeat that cycle twice. Going forward, remove the vacuum from the dock once charging is complete rather than leaving it docked between uses.
