Fits TCL 40 SE and T610 series models, replaces OEM part TLp049FA battery.
3.87V and 4900mAh lithium-polymer cell delivers stable voltage for calls, apps, and media without sag.
Connector seats into the battery slot with flat contact pins; no locking tab required for this model.
We ran discharge cycles at 0.5C and 1.0C load — BMS accepted charge on first insertion, no fault codes.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one full discharge-charge cycle so the fuel gauge IC recalibrates to this cell's discharge curve before high-current charging resumes.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

TCL 40 SE / T610E2 / T610K — 3.87V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (TLp049FA)

This is a 3.87V, 4900mAh (18.96Wh) lithium-polymer cell that fits the TCL 40 SE, T610E2, T610K, and T610K2. It replaces the original TLp049FA when the factory cell can no longer hold voltage under screen or modem load. Dimensions are 92.00 × 65.00 × 3.50mm — measure your existing cell before ordering if the chassis has been repaired before.

  • TCL 40 SE series compatibility: The T610E2, T610K, and T610K2 share the same 3.87V power rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake as the 40 SE. One cell covers all four variants because the charge IC accepts the same voltage thresholds and NTC thermistor curve across the lineup.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the T610K2. The BMS held charge termination at 4.40V and triggered low-voltage cutoff cleanly at 3.0V. No mid-cycle faults, no thermal flags on the charge IC.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle at standard rate. This gives the coulomb counter a clean reference point against the new cell's actual discharge curve before high-current charging begins on an uncalibrated gauge.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the TCL 40 SE after a cell swap

This happens because the fuel gauge IC still holds the old cell's discharge curve in memory. A degraded original cell had a steep voltage cliff at low state-of-charge — the gauge learned that cliff. The new cell holds voltage further into discharge, but the IC cuts power early based on stale data. One full discharge cycle — down to automatic shutdown, then a full charge — resets the coulomb counter and eliminates the early cutoff.

USB fast charge not activating after battery replacement

On the first charge cycle after installation, the charge IC may not negotiate the fast-charge protocol with the new cell's BMS. This is normal — the IC defaults to standard 5V/1A until it confirms the cell's temperature and impedance are within range. Charge once at standard rate using the stock cable and charger. Fast charge typically activates automatically from the second cycle onward once the BMS clears its initialisation flags.

Frequently Asked Questions

My TCL 40 SE keeps shutting off at around 25% after I put in the new battery — is the cell faulty?

The cell is almost certainly fine. The fuel gauge IC in the 40 SE learned the discharge curve of your old, degraded battery and still expects a voltage cliff at low charge. The new cell holds voltage further into discharge, so the IC cuts the phone early based on that stale map. Run one full discharge to automatic shutdown, then charge to 100% at standard rate — the coulomb counter resets its reference and the early shutdowns stop.

The battery percentage on my TCL 40 SE is jumping around erratically after the replacement — sometimes it jumps 10% in seconds.

Erratic percentage jumps after a cell swap are a fuel gauge IC calibration issue, not a faulty battery. The coulomb counter is interpolating state-of-charge against a curve built on the old cell — the new cell's impedance and discharge profile don't match that map. Avoid topping up or partial charges for the first two cycles. Let the phone discharge fully to shutdown and then charge to 100% uninterrupted — this gives the IC two clean data points to build an accurate curve.

My TCL 40 SE won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months before I installed it.

If a lithium-polymer cell self-discharges below approximately 2.5V during storage, the BMS locks out to prevent damage from charging a deeply discharged cell. Plug the phone into the original charger and leave it connected for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button — the charge IC will trickle current into the cell to bring it above the BMS recovery threshold. Once the voltage recovers above 3.0V, the BMS unlocks and the phone will boot normally.
