TCL S800 / S710 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (CAB32E0000C1)

This is a 3.7V 1950mAh Li-ion replacement cell for the TCL S800, S710, J160, and MW40 series smartphones. It replaces OEM part numbers CAB32E0000C1, CAB32E0002C1, TLiB32E, and TLiB5AF. Swap it when the original cell can no longer hold enough charge to keep the device running through normal daily use.

• S800 / S710 / J160 / MW40 platform fit: These models share the same battery bay dimensions and connector pinout, and the BMS handshake operates on the same voltage rail at 3.7V nominal — so one cell fits across the group without modification.
• Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the S800 platform. The BMS accepted the charge controller handshake on the first cycle, and the protection circuit triggered correctly at both overvoltage and undervoltage cutoff thresholds.
• Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle. This gives the fuel gauge IC time to map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging begins pushing current into an uncalibrated cell.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the TCL S800 after a cell swap

This happens because the fuel gauge IC is still reading the discharge curve of the old, degraded cell. The new cell has a steeper voltage-versus-capacity curve in the lower charge range. When the modem transmits or the screen brightness spikes, current draw pulls the cell voltage below the BMS cutoff threshold — even though the OS shows 20–30% remaining. One complete discharge cycle, draining to auto-shutdown and charging back to 100% without fast charge enabled, forces the coulomb counter to remap against the actual cell curve. After that cycle, the percentage readout tracks accurately and spurious shutdowns stop.

Device will not power on after the replacement battery sat in storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage, and if the cell voltage drops below approximately 2.5V, the BMS locks out to prevent further discharge damage. The phone will show nothing — no charging indicator, no boot screen — when connected to a charger. Connect the phone to a low-current USB source (a standard 5V/500mA port, not a fast charger) and leave it for 20–30 minutes without interruption. The BMS trickle-charges the cell back above the lockout threshold, then normal charging resumes. If the charging indicator still does not appear after 30 minutes, verify the USB cable is not a charge-only type.
