Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Telekom Speedbox LTE mini / LTE+ mini — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (HB5P1H)
This is a 3.7V, 2600mAh Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Telekom Speedbox LTE mini and Speedbox LTE+ mini mobile hotspots. It fits the HB5P1H slot directly and restores power when the original cell can no longer hold enough charge to sustain a session. Capacity figure comes from the product data: 2600mAh / 9.62Wh.
- Speedbox LTE mini and LTE+ mini compatibility: Both models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — the HB5P1H cell fits either variant without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this battery under a combined modem-plus-Wi-Fi load with four active client devices. The BMS held the voltage rail steady and did not trip the low-voltage cutoff during sustained data transfer.
- Ventilation during long sessions: Keep the hotspot on an open surface when clients are far from the unit — the LTE radio runs at full transmit power to maintain signal, and heat buildup in a pocket or bag accelerates cell degradation faster than normal use would.
Hotspot disconnecting clients mid-session on a new battery
A freshly installed cell can still cause mid-session drops if the device is in a weak signal area. The LTE modem spikes current draw sharply when it renegotiates signal, and if multiple Wi-Fi clients are active at the same moment, the combined load causes a voltage sag. The BMS reads that sag as a low-voltage event and momentarily cuts output, resetting the radio stack. Relocating the hotspot closer to a window or reducing connected client count to two or three usually eliminates the sag.
Speedbox LTE mini not powering on after sitting in a drawer
Li-Polymer cells self-discharge at roughly 2–3% per month, so a hotspot stored unused for several months may fall below the minimum boot voltage. The device needs at least 3.2V across the cell terminals to initialise the modem firmware before it will power on. Connect the original charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes before attempting to start — most BMS controllers will accept a trickle charge at this voltage and recover to boot threshold without issue. If the charge indicator never lights, the cell has dropped below recovery voltage and replacement is the correct next step.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Speedbox LTE mini battery drains much faster when I'm in a poor signal area — is something wrong with the replacement cell?
Nothing is wrong with the cell. When the LTE modem cannot find a strong signal, it continuously increases transmit power to maintain the connection — this is the single largest current draw the hotspot produces. Add two or more connected Wi-Fi clients on top of that and total draw can nearly double compared to a full-signal session. Move the hotspot to a location with stronger LTE reception and battery draw drops noticeably.
The hotspot feels noticeably warm after an hour of use on the new battery — should I be concerned?
Some warmth is normal because the LTE radio and the battery are in close proximity inside a compact enclosure. The concern starts when the unit becomes hot to the touch, which means the BMS is managing elevated cell temperature and will begin throttling output to protect the cell. Set the hotspot on a flat, open surface rather than inside a bag or on a soft surface that blocks airflow — surface contact with fabric traps heat directly against the battery.
The Speedbox LTE mini powers on but shuts off within seconds of connecting clients — what causes that?
This is a BMS low-voltage trip, not a software fault. When multiple clients connect simultaneously, the Wi-Fi radio and LTE modem both spike current at the same moment, pulling the cell voltage below the BMS cutoff threshold — typically around 3.0V. Let the battery charge to 100% before starting a session so the cell has maximum headroom before those load spikes hit. If the shutdown still occurs at full charge, confirm the charger output is 5V / 1A or higher, as an underpowered charger leaves the cell partially balanced even when the indicator shows full.
