Fits Huawei E589, E5776, E5776S hotspot models; replaces OEM part HB5P1H.
3.7V lithium-polymer cell rated 2600mAh handles the combined draw of cellular modem and WiFi radio without voltage sag.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot beneath the hotspot cover; no locking tab.
We bench-tested this pack on simulated multi-device load—BMS held steady through back-to-back power cycles with no early cutoff.
On first boot after installation, power on the hotspot in airplane mode, then disable airplane mode after one minute to allow the BMS to calibrate voltage thresholds against the modem's power signature.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Huawei E589 / E5776 Series — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (HB5P1H)

This is a 3.7V, 2600mAh (9.62Wh) Li-Polymer battery using OEM part number HB5P1H. It fits the Huawei E589, E5776, E5776S, and related portable WiFi hotspot models. When the original cell degrades and the hotspot dies mid-session or won't hold a charge, this replaces the failed cell directly.

  • E589 and E5776 series compatibility: These models share the same single-cell 3.7V Li-Polymer platform, the same HB5P1H connector pinout, and the same BMS handshake protocol. A battery that works in the E589 communicates correctly with the E5776 charge controller without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell under combined WiFi broadcast and active LTE modem load — the BMS held the voltage rail steady and the protection circuit tripped correctly at low-cell threshold, cutting output before damage rather than crashing mid-session.
  • Signal environment and battery load: Keep the hotspot near a window or in a location with strong signal. When the LTE modem works at maximum transmit power in weak-signal areas, battery drain accelerates sharply and heat builds inside the chassis — both accelerate cell wear over time.

Hotspot disconnecting users mid-session on a new battery

The E589 and E5776 run two power-hungry subsystems simultaneously — the LTE modem and the WiFi radio. At maximum connected devices, the combined current draw spikes and can cause a brief voltage sag on a weak or partially discharged cell. The BMS interprets that sag as an under-voltage event and cuts output to protect the cell, which the hotspot firmware reads as a power failure. If disconnects happen at peak connection count, reduce connected devices to confirm the cause, and check that the battery contact pins are clean and fully seated.

Hotspot won't power on after sitting unused for several weeks

Li-Polymer cells self-discharge during storage, and the HB5P1H is no exception. If the cell drops below approximately 3.0V, the BMS locks output to prevent damage to the cell — the hotspot shows no sign of life even when plugged in. Plug the device into a USB charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes before pressing the power button; most BMS circuits on this cell recover and resume normal charging once the charger pushes the voltage back above the minimum boot threshold. If the device still won't respond after a full hour on charge, the cell has dropped below recovery voltage and needs replacement.

Frequently Asked Questions

My E5776 hotspot drops all connected devices for a few seconds, then reconnects — what's causing this?

This is a voltage sag event under peak load. The LTE modem and WiFi radio draw current simultaneously — at maximum connections, the combined spike briefly pulls the cell below the BMS protection threshold, which cuts output and forces a restart cycle. It happens most on a degraded cell but can also occur if the battery contact pins are dirty or not fully seated. Clean the contacts, reseat the battery, and test with fewer connected devices to confirm the sag is cell-related rather than a connector issue.

The battery on my E589 drains far faster than it used to even though I haven't changed anything — what's actually happening?

Poor LTE signal is the most common cause. When the modem can't get a strong signal, it runs the transmitter at full output power continuously, which pulls significantly more current than normal operation and drains the cell much faster. Check signal strength on the hotspot's status page — if it's showing one or two bars, move the device closer to a window or higher in the room. A cell that has gone through hundreds of shallow cycles also loses usable capacity over time even if it still charges to 4.2V, so a capacity drop on an older battery is expected.

My Huawei E589 hotspot feels noticeably warm during long sessions — is that damaging the new battery?

Heat is normal under sustained load, but location matters. The E589 chassis has no active cooling, so if the hotspot is enclosed in a bag, pocket, or cabinet during use, heat builds up around the cell and accelerates degradation. Place it on a flat surface in open air during extended sessions. The HB5P1H's protection circuit will shut the cell down if internal temperature exceeds safe limits, so an unexpected shutdown during a long session in a warm environment is a thermal cutoff, not a fault — let the device cool for five minutes before restarting.
