Fits Verizon Jetpack 890L, Jetpack 890L 4G LTE, and replaces OEM part Li3717T42P3h654458.
3.7V, 1500mAh lithium-ion cell supplies continuous power to the cellular modem and WiFi radio simultaneously.
Connector slides into the battery compartment with a single locking tab on the right side.
We ran full discharge cycles on the 890L; the BMS held voltage stable under combined modem and WiFi load.
If the hotspot powers on but disconnects users after five to ten minutes, reseat this battery fully — poor contact causes voltage sag under maximum cellular draw with multiple connected devices.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Verizon Jetpack 890L — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (Li3717T42P3h654458)

This 3.7V, 1500mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original cell in the Verizon Jetpack 890L mobile hotspot. It fits the Jetpack 890L, Jetpack 890L 4G LTE, and Hotspot 890L variants. Swap it in when the original cell no longer holds enough charge to keep the hotspot running through a full work session.

  • Jetpack 890L series compatibility: These models share the same 3.7V single-cell architecture, the same Li3717T42P3h654458 OEM part number, and the same physical connector. The BMS handshake is identical across the 890L lineup, so one cell covers all listed variants.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell in a Jetpack 890L under combined modem and Wi-Fi load with five connected clients. The BMS held stable cutoff thresholds and did not trigger false low-voltage shutdowns under that simultaneous draw.
  • Ventilation during extended sessions: Keep the hotspot flat on an open surface — not in a bag or pocket — during long sessions. The cellular radio runs at peak output when signal is weak, generating heat that sits directly against the battery. Trapped heat accelerates cell aging faster than heavy use alone.

Why the Jetpack 890L drops all connected clients mid-session

The 890L drives two separate power draws simultaneously — the LTE modem and the Wi-Fi radio. At maximum client count, the combined current pull can cause a brief voltage sag on an aging or partially depleted cell. The BMS reads that sag as a low-voltage fault and cuts output, dropping every connected device instantly. A fresh cell with intact internal resistance handles that peak draw without triggering the cutoff. If sessions were cutting out near the end of a charge cycle, that is the cause.

Jetpack 890L won't power on after sitting unused for weeks

Li-ion cells self-discharge at roughly 2–3% per month even when switched off. If the 890L sat in a drawer for an extended period, the cell may have dropped below the BMS minimum boot voltage — typically around 3.0V. The device will show nothing when you press the power button because the BMS blocks output to protect the cell. Plug it into the charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes before attempting to power on; most BMS circuits need a trickle-charge cycle to re-initialise before the device will respond.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Jetpack 890L keeps kicking everyone off Wi-Fi for a few seconds, then reconnects — is this the battery?

Yes, this is a voltage sag fault. Under peak load — five clients active plus a weak LTE signal forcing full radio power — the combined current draw causes a momentary dip that the BMS reads as a low-voltage event and cuts output. A degraded original cell has rising internal resistance, which makes the sag worse. Replace the cell and the BMS will handle the peak draw without tripping.

The new battery in my Jetpack 890L is draining noticeably faster than I expected — what's drawing it down?

The LTE radio is almost always the cause. In areas with marginal signal, the modem boosts transmit power to maintain the connection — that single factor can double the current draw compared to strong-signal conditions. Multiple connected clients compound the load further. Check signal strength on the 890L's status screen; if it reads two bars or fewer, the radio is running at or near maximum output, which accounts for the faster drain.

My Jetpack 890L shows a full charge indicator but dies quickly — is the battery reading inaccurate?

This is a state-of-charge calibration drift, common when the original cell has aged significantly. The BMS learned the old cell's discharge curve and maps "full" to a voltage that no longer reflects true capacity. With a replacement cell, run one full charge to 100% and then use the hotspot until it auto-shuts off — do not interrupt the cycle. That single drain-to-cutoff pass lets the BMS recalibrate against the new cell's actual voltage curve, and the charge indicator will read accurately from that point.
