Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Telstra THUB / CTB104 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (LP043048AH)
This is a 3.7V, 700mAh lithium-ion battery for the Telstra THUB and CTB104 cordless DECT handsets. It replaces OEM part numbers LP043048AH, 253230694, and CTB104. When the original cell degrades, the handset loses the ability to hold a charge and stops working away from the base station — this battery restores wireless operation.
- THUB and CTB104 compatibility: Both handsets use the same 3.7V single-cell Li-ion pack with the LP043048AH footprint — identical connector, BMS handshake, and 49 x 30 x 4.5mm form factor. No modification required.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the THUB platform. The BMS responded correctly to the base station's charge controller — no false full-charge cutoff, no trickle-charge refusal.
- First charge on the THUB base station: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full charge cycle before using it. The THUB base delivers a low-current charge — interrupting it early on a new cell can cause the handset to underreport remaining capacity for several cycles.
Talk time shorter than expected after fitting a new Li-ion cell
The THUB handset calibrates its fuel gauge against the previous cell's discharge curve. A fresh Li-ion pack has a different internal resistance profile, so the handset's charge indicator can read low even when the cell is not. Run two to three full charge and discharge cycles — the gauge resets itself against actual cell behaviour over those cycles. After that, talk time tracks correctly.
Handset loses DECT pairing after battery replacement
Some DECT handsets — including the THUB — store pairing data in volatile memory that clears when power drops to zero during a battery swap. Swapping the battery with the handset completely dead makes this more likely. After fitting the new cell, place the handset on the base for at least 30 minutes before attempting a call. If the handset still shows no line, re-register it manually: hold the Find Handset button on the base for five seconds while the handset is powered on.

Frequently Asked Questions
My THUB handset drains completely overnight even when it's sitting in the base — is the new battery faulty?
This is almost always a seating issue, not a cell fault. The THUB base station only charges when the handset's contacts are fully aligned with the cradle — even a slight tilt breaks the circuit. Remove the handset, wipe the gold contacts on both the handset and base with a dry cloth, then re-seat it firmly until you hear or feel it click into position. If the charge indicator light on the base doesn't come on within 30 seconds of seating, the contacts are still not making a clean connection.
The THUB base station shows a flashing or error light and won't charge the new battery — what's wrong?
A new Li-ion cell shipped in storage can sit at or below 3.2V, which is under the THUB base station's acceptance threshold. The base reads that voltage as a fault condition and refuses to begin a charge cycle. Hold the handset's power button for 10 seconds to force a hard reset, then re-seat it in the base. If the error light persists, remove the battery, wait two minutes, reinstall it, and seat the handset again — this clears the base controller's fault latch and allows it to retry the charge handshake.
The THUB handset drops calls or has poor audio quality near the edges of my home — did the battery swap affect range?
Yes, it can. The THUB's DECT transmitter draws a short burst of current every time it sends a radio packet. If the battery's charge is low or the cell hasn't completed its first full charge cycle, voltage sags under that RF load — the transmitter pulls back power and range drops noticeably. Charge the handset to 100% before testing range. If the problem only occurs when the battery indicator shows two bars or fewer, the cell is behaving correctly — range at low charge is normal for a single 700mAh Li-ion cell under DECT transmit load.
