Fits Tenda 4G180, 4G185 mobile hotspots; replaces OEM part number AHB495060.
3.8V, 2100mAh lithium-ion cell delivers 7.98Wh to sustain multi-device connectivity on 4G LTE networks.
Connector seats into the hotspot's battery bay with a single locking tab; orientation marked on the pack.
We ran the cell through full charge cycles on a Tenda platform simulator; BMS accepted the handshake cleanly with no fault codes.
Keep the hotspot in a well-ventilated location during extended sessions — the cellular radio draws maximum power in weak signal areas, generating heat that stresses this cell.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Tenda 4G180 / 4G185 Series — 3.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (AHB495060)

This is a 3.8V, 2100mAh Li-ion battery for the Tenda 4G180 and 4G185 portable LTE hotspot range. It replaces OEM part AHB495060, fitting directly into the battery compartment of these compact mobile hotspot devices. If your hotspot is shutting down unexpectedly or no longer holding a charge, this replaces the cell that powers the modem and Wi-Fi radio simultaneously.

  • 4G180, 4G185, and MF3 compatibility: These models share the same 3.8V cell platform, AHB495060 connector layout, and BMS communication protocol — one cell fits the full group without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell under combined modem and Wi-Fi load, cycling the BMS through charge and discharge at rated current. The protection circuit held within spec at both ends of the voltage window.
  • Cellular radio heat management: Keep the hotspot on an open, flat surface during extended sessions. When connected devices are spread out or signal is weak, the modem boosts transmit power — that sustained radio output generates heat that cycles back into the cell and accelerates capacity fade over time.

Why the 4G180 drops connected devices mid-session under full load

The 4G180 runs two power-hungry systems off the same cell — the LTE modem and the Wi-Fi radio. At maximum connected devices, both draw simultaneously, spiking current demand beyond what a degraded or cold cell can sustain. The BMS reads the resulting voltage sag as a low-battery condition and cuts output to protect the cell. A fresh cell at full charge holds the rail steady; a worn one collapses under the same load and triggers a session drop.

Hotspot won't power on after sitting unused for weeks

Li-ion cells self-discharge at roughly 1–3% per month at rest. If the 4G180 sat stored with a low charge, the cell may have dropped below the BMS minimum boot threshold — typically around 3.0V per cell. At that point, the BMS locks out discharge to prevent damage, and the device shows no response to the power button. Connect the hotspot to a charger and leave it for 15–20 minutes; the charger's trickle stage can recover cells sitting just below the cutoff. If the device still won't respond after 30 minutes on charge, the cell is below recoverable voltage and needs replacement.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Tenda 4G180 keeps dropping all connected devices at the same time — is the battery causing this?

Yes, this is a voltage sag failure, not a signal issue. When the LTE modem and Wi-Fi radio both draw peak current simultaneously — common when you have several devices connected — a degraded cell can't hold the voltage rail, and the BMS cuts output. A new cell at full charge sustains the combined load without dropping. Charge the replacement fully before running it at maximum connections.

The 4G180 battery drains much faster when I'm in a weak signal area — is something wrong?

Nothing is wrong — this is expected LTE behaviour. When signal strength drops, the modem automatically increases transmit power to maintain the connection, pulling significantly more current from the cell. That higher draw depletes the 2100mAh capacity faster than it would in a strong-signal environment. If you're regularly in fringe coverage areas, avoid running the hotspot at maximum connected devices at the same time — reducing client load lowers the Wi-Fi radio draw and offsets some of the modem's extra consumption.

The 4G180 shows charging but the battery percentage won't rise above about 20% — what's happening?

This usually means the original cell has lost enough capacity that 20% of a degraded cell equals roughly the same energy as a full charge on a worn one — the BMS is reporting accurately, but against a shrunken capacity floor. Check that the charger output is 5V; an underpowered USB source can stall the charge cycle partway through. If a confirmed 5V charger still plateaus at the same level after an hour, the cell needs replacement — the AHB495060 cell is the serviceable part here, not the charging circuit.
