Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Toshiba KIRA 13 Kirabook — 14.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (PA5160U-1BRS)
This 14.8V Li-Polymer battery replaces the original cell in the Toshiba KIRA 13 Kirabook and Kirabook U930t-B ultrabooks. It carries OEM part numbers PA5160U-1BRS, P000592540, P000673860, and G71C000GG110. Capacity is 3300mAh (48.84Wh), matching the original specification.
- KIRA 13 / U930t-B platform fit: These models share the same 14.8V four-cell Li-Polymer architecture, identical connector pinout, and the same BMS handshake protocol — so one cell covers the full compatible range listed above.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge, discharge, and BMS communication checks on a KIRA 13 unit. The BMS negotiated correctly, cell balancing triggered as expected, and no protection cutoffs fired during the test cycle.
- Post-install calibration on the Kirabook: After fitting this cell, run one full discharge to hibernate-cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap on this platform.
BIOS reporting battery health as poor after fitting the new cell
The Kirabook BIOS reads health data from EEPROM registers on the battery's BMS. When a new cell arrives, those registers reflect factory defaults, not a learned discharge profile — so the BIOS flags it as degraded even though the cell is new. Running one full discharge-to-hibernate then a complete uninterrupted charge lets the BIOS write a fresh baseline to those registers. After one to two cycles, the health indicator normalises. No firmware update or BIOS setting change is needed.
Kirabook shutting down at 20–30% shown on the fuel gauge
This happens when the fuel gauge IC hasn't yet calibrated against the new cell's actual voltage curve. The IC maps a stale discharge profile onto the new chemistry, so it misjudges the remaining capacity and the system shuts down before the displayed percentage reaches zero. The fix is deliberate calibration: let the laptop discharge fully to automatic hibernate, then charge to 100% without interruption — repeat this two to three times. After calibration cycles, the fuel gauge tracks accurately and the early shutdown stops.

Frequently Asked Questions
The BIOS says the new battery is unknown or shows 0% — is the cell faulty?
It isn't faulty. The Kirabook BIOS reads identity and health data from EEPROM registers on the battery BMS, and a fresh cell ships with factory-default register values the BIOS doesn't recognise yet. Run one complete discharge to hibernate-cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. After that first full cycle the BIOS writes a learned baseline and the unknown/0% flag clears.
System info shows the wrong Wh rating after fitting this battery — why doesn't it match?
The Wh figure Windows or Toshiba's power utility displays is pulled from a static EEPROM register on the BMS, not measured in real time. That register holds the manufacturer's rated value, which can differ slightly from the actual delivered Wh once the cell is in a live system. This is a data field difference, not a capacity shortfall. Run two full calibration cycles and the reported figure will settle closer to the actual 48.84Wh specification.
Charge stops at 80% and won't go higher — is there a fault with the replacement cell?
This is almost always a BIOS-controlled charge limit, not a cell fault. Toshiba's firmware on some Kirabook units activates an 80% charge ceiling to reduce long-term cell stress — it's a deliberate firmware setting. Check Toshiba System Settings or the Battery Care Function in the taskbar tray; disable the eco charge or peak shift mode there. Once that setting is off, charge the laptop to 100% and confirm the cell accepts a full charge before assuming a hardware fault.
