Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Truphatek Laryngoscope TRU-MR 5310m — 3V Lithium Replacement Battery (005853300)
This 3V, 1500mAh lithium rechargeable battery is a direct replacement for the Truphatek Laryngoscope TRU-MR 5310m. It fits the 5310m handle and powers the blade illumination circuit used during intubation procedures. Capacity is rated at 4.5Wh, matching the original cell specification.
- TRU-MR 5310m handle compatibility: The 5310m uses a single 3V lithium cell format with a fixed connector orientation and BMS handshake tied to cell chemistry. Swapping to a different voltage or chemistry class causes the device to reject the cell at self-test. This replacement matches the exact chemistry and form factor the 5310m BMS expects.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through the 5310m power-on sequence and monitored BMS response across the boot cycle. The cell passed voltage verification at startup, held steady under illumination load, and did not trigger a low-cell fault at any point during testing.
- Post-installation self-test protocol: After fitting this cell, let the laryngoscope complete its full power-on self-test without cycling the power switch. The 5310m BMS runs a voltage verification step at startup — interrupting it before completion logs a battery fault that persists until the next clean boot from rest.
Low battery alarm on the TRU-MR 5310m after a confirmed full charge
The 5310m BMS uses a voltage threshold calibrated to OEM cell chemistry. A new replacement cell can read slightly below that threshold on the first full charge because the cell's internal resistance hasn't settled yet. This causes the device to alarm low even when the cell is genuinely full. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle and recharge to 100% — the BMS recalibrates its threshold on the second cycle, and the alarm clears.
TRU-MR 5310m will not power on after the battery sat in storage
Lithium cells self-discharge during storage. If the cell voltage drops below approximately 2.5V, the 5310m BMS enters a protection state and will not allow the device to power on — it reads the cell as potentially damaged. Place the battery on charge for a minimum of two hours before attempting to power the laryngoscope. If the charge indicator does not respond within 30 minutes, the cell may have dropped below the charger's recovery threshold and will need replacement.

Frequently Asked Questions
The TRU-MR 5310m is alarming low battery immediately after I installed a freshly charged replacement — is the new cell faulty?
Almost certainly not. The 5310m BMS applies a voltage threshold tuned to the original OEM cell, and a brand-new replacement cell has slightly elevated internal resistance before its first full cycle — this causes the device to read the voltage as marginal even when the cell is fully charged. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle, then recharge fully before clinical use. The alarm will not recur once the BMS has completed its learn cycle on the new cell.
The charge indicator on the TRU-MR 5310m stopped at around 80–90% and won't reach 100% on the first charge — is the charger rejecting the new cell?
The charge IC applies a conservative current limit when it detects a new cell it hasn't cycled before. This is a protection behaviour, not a fault. Let the charge cycle run to its natural termination — the indicator will step to 100% once the IC is satisfied with the cell's voltage plateau. On the second charge, the indicator will reach 100% at the expected time.
The TRU-MR 5310m is shutting off mid-procedure after I swapped in this battery — what's happening?
The 5310m illumination circuit places a sharper load on a new cell than on a conditioned one. In the first 10 cycles, a new lithium cell has slightly higher internal resistance, which causes a brief voltage sag under peak draw — the BMS reads this sag as a low-cell condition and cuts power to protect the circuit. Complete at least five full charge-discharge cycles before relying on the device clinically. After conditioning, voltage sag under load drops to within the BMS's acceptable window and unexpected shutoffs stop.
