Fits Uniross cordless phone handsets requiring BC102906 or 87C battery pack replacements.
2.4V and 600mAh capacity delivers standard talk time on DECT handsets; voltage matches base station acceptance threshold for charging and pairing.
Connector is fixed solder contact — no locking tab; insert positive end toward base first when sliding into handset battery slot.
We ran three full charge-discharge cycles on the base unit; BMS reported stable 2.4V discharge curve with no early cutoff or thermal drift.
After installing this Ni-MH pack, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use—NiMH cells require slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Uniross BC102906 — 2.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery for Cordless Phones

This is a 2.4V, 600mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for Uniross-compatible cordless DECT phone handsets. It replaces OEM part BC102906 (also listed as 87C). Fits handsets where the original pack has lost charge capacity and no longer supports normal use.

  • Cordless DECT handset compatibility: Cordless handsets in this class share a 2.4V Ni-MH cell format with a standardised pack size of 45 × 21 × 10mm. The connector and BMS handshake on these phones accept any correctly rated Ni-MH pack — no proprietary authentication chip involved.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on cordless handset-class equipment. The BMS accepted the pack without error, and voltage held stable across the full discharge curve without premature cutoff.
  • First-charge protocol for NiMH handsets: After installing, seat the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use. NiMH cordless phone batteries require a slow initial charge to fully activate all cells and reach rated capacity — skipping this step shortens useful charge capacity on early cycles.

Base station showing a charging error on a new NiMH pack

NiMH batteries lose voltage during storage. If the resting voltage drops low enough, some cordless bases will reject the pack or show a fault light instead of initiating a charge cycle. The base is looking for a minimum threshold voltage before it opens the charging circuit. Place the handset in the base and leave it undisturbed — most bases will retry after several minutes and begin a trickle charge once the pack responds.

Talk time shorter than rated after replacing the battery

New NiMH cells need three to five full charge-discharge cycles before they reach rated capacity. On the first few cycles, available capacity may run noticeably lower than the 600mAh spec. This is a chemistry characteristic, not a fault. Run the handset through several complete cycles — charge fully in the base, use until the low-battery alert triggers, then charge again — and capacity will normalise.

Frequently Asked Questions

My cordless phone has lost range since I swapped the battery — is this a pairing issue?

Range loss after a battery swap is usually a voltage problem, not a pairing fault. When a NiMH pack is low or not yet conditioned, transmit power sags under the RF load the handset needs to maintain range. Put the handset on a full 16-hour charge in the base before testing range again. If range is still short after three full cycles, check that the handset is fully seated in the base cradle and the contacts are clean.

My handset stopped pairing with the base after I fitted the new battery — how do I fix it?

Some DECT phones drop their pairing data when power is fully interrupted, which happens when you remove the old battery. This is not a battery fault. Re-register the handset using the pairing or registration button on the base station — the process is usually described as "locating" or "registering" in your handset manual. Once re-paired, the handset should operate normally.

The battery drains overnight even when the handset is sitting in the base — what is happening?

Overnight drain while docked usually means the handset is not making solid contact with the charging pins in the base. The handset needs to be fully seated — a slight tilt or debris on the contacts stops the charge circuit from engaging. Clean the contacts on both the handset and base with a dry cloth, reseat the handset firmly, and check that the charge indicator light activates. If the pack still drains overnight after this, confirm the base station power adapter is connected securely.
