Fits URC MX-3000 and MX-3000i remotes, replacing OEM battery part numbers BTPC56067A, PC046067H, BTPC56067, RLP-008-2.1, and BTPC56067B.
This 3.7V, 2100mAh lithium-polymer cell restores full IR transmission range and button response on the MX-3000 programmable remote.
Battery slides into the rear compartment with positive terminal facing the spring contact; polarity reversal prevents the remote from powering on.
We bench-tested this pack against the MX-3000 IR circuit; the BMS delivered clean voltage ramp on first insertion with no fault codes.
On first install, verify positive and negative orientation against the compartment markings — reversed polarity is the top cause of no-power failures on this remote.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

URC MX-3000 / MX-3000i — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BTPC56067A)

This 3.7V, 2100mAh lithium-polymer battery replaces the internal rechargeable cell in the URC MX-3000 and MX-3000i programmable remote controls. It matches OEM part numbers BTPC56067A, PC046067H, BTPC56067, RLP-008-2.1, and BTPC56067B. When the original cell loses capacity, IR output drops and the remote starts missing commands — swapping this cell restores consistent signal strength.

  • MX-3000 and MX-3000i compatibility: Both models run on the same internal battery bay, voltage rail, and connector pinout. The BMS handshake is identical across the two variants, so one cell covers both units.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the MX-3000 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without fault flags, and IR output held at expected signal strength across the test range.
  • Connector seating on the MX-3000: The flat flex connector on this cell has a retention clip that must click fully into the board socket. A half-seated connector causes intermittent power loss that looks like a dead battery — press until you hear the click before closing the case.

Why the MX-3000 starts dropping commands before the battery reads as low

Li-polymer cells in remotes lose usable voltage headroom before the BMS triggers a low-battery warning. The MX-3000's IR LED requires a stable voltage spike for each burst — as the cell ages and internal resistance climbs, that spike flattens. The remote still powers on and the screen may show full charge, but the IR signal weakens enough that the TV or receiver misses commands intermittently. Replacing the cell at the first sign of missed commands — not when the remote dies — avoids the deeper discharge cycles that accelerate cell degradation.

MX-3000 powers on but IR output won't reach the device

Short IR range after a battery swap usually means the cell voltage is sitting below 3.5V — either from a partially discharged replacement or a shipping discharge. Plug the remote into charge before use and let it reach a full charge cycle. If range stays short after a full charge, check the connector seating at the board socket; a loose contact limits current draw to the IR LED array. Confirm charge voltage at the USB port reads above 4.1V before troubleshooting further.

Frequently Asked Questions

I just put in the new battery and the MX-3000 remote isn't responding at all — what did I miss?

The most common cause is the flat flex connector not fully seated in the board socket. Press the connector down until the retention clip clicks — a half-seated connection cuts power to the whole remote even though the battery is installed. If it still won't respond after reseating, charge the cell for at least an hour before testing, as replacement Li-polymer cells often ship at partial charge. A cell below 3.2V may not give the BMS enough voltage to boot the remote.

My MX-3000 works but I have to point it directly at the TV from much closer than before — is this the battery?

Yes. A degraded or partially charged Li-polymer cell can no longer deliver the current spike the IR LED needs for a full-strength burst. The remote still functions at close range because the LED fires, just with reduced output. Charge the new cell to full — confirmed by the charging indicator clearing — and retest from your normal distance. If short-range-only behaviour continues after a full charge, check the connector seating at the board socket.

The MX-3000 battery drains noticeably faster than the original used to — what causes that?

A stuck or partially depressed button on the MX-3000 creates a constant parasitic draw, pulling current even when the remote sits idle. Remove the back cover and visually check that no button is physically jammed below the surround. If no button is stuck, check whether the remote is stored face-down against a surface that can press buttons — this is a frequent cause of unexpected discharge on flat-faced remotes. Parasitic draw from a jammed button can pull a 2100mAh cell down to 3.0V within days of a full charge.
