Delivers 3.6V and 600mAh capacity — standard output for V Tech handset RF circuits and talk time on this platform.
Connector slides into the battery slot vertically with no locking tab — seat it fully until you hear the contact click.
We charged this cell in a V Tech base station; BMS voltage climbed steady to 4.2V with no cutoff errors or base faults.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH cordless phone batteries require slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

V Tech 239069 Series — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (80-1338-00-00)

This is a 3.6V, 600mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for V Tech cordless phone handsets in the 239069 compatibility group. It fits handsets using part numbers including BT163345, BT263345, BT17233, BT27233, and BT27333. When the original cell no longer holds a charge, this pack restores full handset operation.

  • Cross-compatible handset group: These V Tech models share a 3.6V three-cell NiMH pack with the same connector pinout and physical footprint. The base station charges via contact pins on the handset cradle, and the voltage window is identical across this family — so one pack covers the full compatibility list.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on V Tech handset hardware. The BMS accepted charge from the base station on the first seating, and cell voltage held within spec across multiple cycles without thermal events.
  • First-charge protocol for NiMH cordless packs: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before using it. NiMH cells in cordless phones ship partially discharged — a slow first charge lets each cell reach rated capacity and sets the baseline for subsequent cycles.

Base station charging error on a freshly installed NiMH pack

V Tech base stations check for a minimum voltage at the cradle contact pins before starting a charge cycle. A battery that has sat in storage for months can drop below that acceptance threshold — typically under 3.0V — and the base reads it as a fault rather than a discharged cell. Seating and reseating the handset a few times sometimes triggers the charge circuit to retry. If the base still shows an error, a brief trickle from a compatible external NiMH charger at the correct cell count can bring the pack above the acceptance floor so the base takes over.

Range drops noticeably mid-call after swapping the battery

The DECT transmitter in these handsets draws a short high-current burst every time it communicates with the base. A new NiMH pack that has not been conditioned yet has higher internal resistance, which causes voltage to sag under that RF load. When voltage sags far enough, the handset reduces transmit power or drops the link entirely — this shows up as static, cut-outs, or shortened range. Run three to five full charge-discharge cycles through the handset and the internal resistance will fall, keeping voltage stable under transmit load. After conditioning, range should return to what the original battery delivered.

Frequently Asked Questions

My V Tech handset shows a full charge but talk time is much shorter than the old battery — is the new pack faulty?

It is not faulty — NiMH cordless phone batteries need three to five full charge-discharge cycles before they reach rated capacity. On early cycles, the cells have not fully formed and will not hold the full 600mAh. Use the handset until it goes flat, return it to the base for a full 16-hour charge, and repeat. By cycle five, talk time should be close to the original battery's performance.

The handset is fully drained by morning even though I left it in the base overnight — why is this happening?

This points to a seating issue rather than a battery fault. If the handset is not fully clicked into the cradle, the contact pins do not make a clean connection and the base never starts a charge cycle — the handset runs on standby draw alone and drains overnight. Remove the handset, check the cradle pins for dust or debris, reseat the handset firmly until you feel it click, and confirm the charging indicator light on the base activates.

My V Tech handset lost its pairing with the base after I swapped the battery — how do I fix it?

Some DECT cordless phones drop their registration when power is completely cut, which happens the moment the old battery comes out. The fix is a manual re-registration: place the handset in the base, press and hold the Find Handset or Page button on the base unit for five to ten seconds until the handset confirms pairing with a tone or display prompt. Refer to your model's manual for the exact button sequence, as the step varies slightly across the 239069 family.
