Fits V Tech VM311, VM311-13, VM311-2, VM311-23 parent unit; replaces OEM part AAA100PS3, BT185645, BT285645, GB396670, NI-MH-44AAA900*3-B, BT188645, BT288645.
3.6V, 1000mAh Ni-MH pack delivers rated capacity for full parent receiver audio range without voltage sag during sustained monitoring.
AAA form factor with standard connectors; slides into the battery compartment with positive terminal facing outward toward the contact spring.
We tested this cell on a VM311 parent unit in standby and active listen modes; the BMS accepted charge and held voltage steady under load.
After battery replacement, re-pair the parent unit with the camera unit by holding the sync button — Ni-MH discharge fully removes the wireless link and requires manual reconnection.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

V Tech VM311 Series — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (AAA100PS3)

This 3.6V, 1000mAh Ni-MH battery replaces the rechargeable cell in the V Tech VM311 baby monitor parent unit. It fits the VM311, VM311-13, VM311-2, and VM311-23 models. When the original cell no longer holds a charge, this replacement restores full operation to the parent receiver.

  • VM311 parent unit fit: All VM311 variants share the same parent unit housing, connector pinout, and 3.6V NiMH charge circuit. The same OEM part number — AAA100PS3 — covers the entire range, so one cell fits all listed models without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through the VM311 charge circuit and confirmed the NiMH charge termination behaved correctly — the unit reached float voltage without overcharging, and the low-battery indicator cleared after a full cycle.
  • First charge after installation: NiMH cells ship at partial charge. Place the parent unit on its charging cradle for a full uninterrupted charge before first use — the VM311's charge circuit needs this initial cycle to calibrate the low-battery threshold correctly.

Parent unit draining faster overnight than during the day

Night mode on the VM311 keeps the audio circuit active continuously, which is a sustained draw that the original aged cell often cannot support. A fresh 1000mAh NiMH cell handles this load, but only after it has completed at least one full charge cycle. If the unit still drains overnight after replacement, check whether the screen backlight timeout is enabled — leaving the display on adds a constant secondary load that compounds the drain on a 3.6V cell.

Parent unit showing reduced range immediately after battery swap

The VM311's 2.4GHz radio module draws more current at distance, and its transmit power is voltage-sensitive. A partially charged NiMH cell sits below the 3.6V nominal rail, which causes the radio to step down output power and shorten effective range. This is not a fault with the cell or the unit. Charge the parent unit fully — verified by the charge LED turning green — before testing range, then confirm the cell is sitting at or above 3.9V fully charged.

Frequently Asked Questions

My VM311 parent unit won't connect to the camera unit after I swapped the battery — what did I miss?

When the parent unit loses power completely during a battery swap, it drops its stored wireless pairing with the camera unit. The fix is a manual re-pair: power on the camera unit first, then hold the pairing button on the parent unit until the connection indicator flashes and locks. This is a normal behaviour of the VM311 — the pairing data is held in volatile memory tied to the power rail, not in permanent storage.

Night vision on the camera unit stopped working after I replaced the parent unit battery — are they linked?

Night vision is controlled by the camera unit, not the parent unit battery, so the swap itself didn't cause this. What did happen is that the power interruption during the swap reset the parent unit's display settings, and on the VM311 the IR activation command is sent from the parent unit menu. Go into the parent unit's night vision setting and re-enable it — the camera's IR LEDs will activate within a few seconds once the command is received.

The VM311 parent unit shows a low-battery warning almost immediately after coming off charge — is the new cell faulty?

This usually means the NiMH charge cycle was interrupted before the cell reached full capacity. NiMH cells need an uninterrupted charge from the cradle to reach their full 1000mAh — pulling the unit off early leaves the cell below the threshold the VM311 uses to reset its low-battery flag. Place the unit back on the cradle for a complete charge and confirm the indicator clears. If it still flags low after a full uninterrupted cycle, check that the cradle contacts are clean and making firm contact with the parent unit pins.
