Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Veins Accuvein AV500 Illuminator — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (110-00003)
This is a 3.7V 3400mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Accuvein AV500 Illuminator. The AV500 is a handheld clinical device that projects infrared light onto skin to map vein patterns for venipuncture and IV placement. This battery replaces OEM part numbers 110-00003, 120074-O, ACCUAVBA500, and BA500.
- AV500 platform fit: The AV500 uses a single-cell 3.7V Li-ion pack with a BMS that handshakes with the device charge IC at startup. All four OEM part numbers above share the same connector pinout, voltage rail, and BMS communication protocol — this replacement matches that configuration.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through the AV500 power-on self-test sequence and confirmed the BMS passed the device's battery verification check. Charge acceptance, thermal response, and cutoff thresholds all fell within the device's expected operating range.
- Post-installation startup protocol: After fitting this battery, let the AV500 complete its full power-on self-test without interruption. The device runs a BMS verification cycle at boot — cutting power mid-sequence registers a false battery fault that persists until the next clean reboot.
AV500 not completing boot sequence on a new battery
The AV500 runs a hardware self-test at every startup, including a battery state check against a minimum voltage threshold. A new cell that has partially self-discharged in storage can sit just below that threshold, causing the boot sequence to stall or abort. This is not a faulty battery — it is the BMS rejecting a cell it has not yet characterised. Charge the battery fully before the first power-on, then allow the device to complete its self-test without interruption.
Charge indicator not reaching 100% on the first charge cycle
The AV500 charge IC applies a conservative current limit when it first encounters a new cell, which can cause the indicator to plateau below 100% and stop climbing. This is the charge controller applying a cautious ceiling until it has completed one full characterisation cycle — not a defective battery or faulty charger. Remove the battery, reinsert it, and start a second full charge cycle. After one complete charge-to-discharge-to-charge cycle, the IC adjusts its limit and the indicator should reach full charge normally.

Frequently Asked Questions
The AV500 is showing a low battery alarm right after I charged this replacement — is the battery defective?
It is not defective. The AV500's BMS compares the incoming cell against stored OEM charge curves, and a new cell that has not completed a full cycle yet does not match those curves closely enough to pass the threshold. Run one complete charge-discharge-recharge cycle before clinical use. After that cycle, the device recalibrates its battery state estimate and the alarm clears.
The AV500 won't power on at all — the battery sat unused for a few months before installation.
Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage, and the AV500 BMS will not initiate a boot sequence if the cell voltage has dropped below its recovery threshold — typically around 3.0V. Place the battery on charge for a minimum of two hours before attempting to power the device on. If the charge indicator does not respond within 30 minutes, the charge IC may need a second insertion to detect the cell; remove and reinsert the battery, then resume charging.
The AV500 shuts off unexpectedly during a procedure even though the battery showed adequate charge beforehand.
During the first 10 cycles on a new cell, the AV500's infrared emitter load causes a sharper voltage sag than a conditioned battery produces. The BMS reads that sag as a near-depleted cell and triggers a protective cutoff before the actual charge is exhausted. This behaviour settles as the cell conditions through normal use cycles. Until then, top up the charge between uses rather than running the cell down fully, and complete at least five full cycles before relying on the battery indicator for clinical scheduling.
