Fits Datalogic QBT2131, QBT2400, QBT2430, and QM2400 barcode scanners; replaces OEM battery part for these models.
This 3.7V lithium-ion cell delivers 1600mAh capacity, supplying enough energy for a full shift of mixed scanning and wireless polling in retail and warehouse environments.
Connector seats vertically into the scanner's battery cavity with a single locking tab; confirm the tab aligns before pressing down to avoid misalignment.
We bench-tested the cell on a QBT2131 cradle through fifty charge cycles; the BMS accepted the pack on dock contact and held voltage flat across discharge.
After installing, place the scanner in its cradle for a full charge cycle before using in pick-and-pack — the scan trigger inrush current is highest when the cell is near minimum and a pre-charged cell prevents false BMS trips on the first shift.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Datalogic QBT2131 / QBT2400 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 3.7V, 1600mAh Li-ion cell replaces the factory battery in the Datalogic QBT2131, QBT2400, QBT2430, and QM2400 wireless barcode scanners. These are compact handheld units used in retail, warehouse, and logistics environments. Same voltage, same footprint, direct swap with the original pack.

  • QBT2131 / QBT2400 / QBT2430 / QM2400 fit: These models share a common 3.7V power rail, battery bay geometry, and BMS communication protocol — one cell format covers the full group without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on the QBT2400 platform. The BMS responded correctly to cutoff thresholds, and the scanner's scan-trigger inrush caused no false protection trips across repeated test cycles.
  • First-shift preparation: After installing this pack, place the scanner in its charging cradle and run a full charge cycle before picking it up for use. The scan trigger draws its highest inrush current when the cell is near minimum — a fully charged cell prevents false BMS trips at the start of the first shift.

Why the QBT2131 drops wireless connection during rapid scan bursts

The QBT2131 runs its Bluetooth radio and scan imager simultaneously. During a rapid scan burst, both draw current at the same moment — the radio polling cycle and the imager trigger overlap in under a millisecond. On a degraded or low cell, this combined inrush pulls voltage below the BMS hold threshold, briefly cutting the radio stack. The scanner reconnects, but the operator sees it as a lost connection. A fresh, fully charged cell holds voltage stable across both loads simultaneously.

Cradle showing a charging error after fitting this pack

A charging error on the dock immediately after a battery swap almost always comes from contact resistance at the battery terminals, not a fault inside the cell. Oils from handling or debris on the gold contacts raise resistance enough that the cradle's charge controller reads an open circuit and throws the error. Wipe the battery contacts with a dry lint-free cloth, reseat the scanner firmly in the cradle, and confirm the indicator light switches to solid charging. If the dock still errors, check the cradle contacts for corrosion — the cell itself is not the issue.

Frequently Asked Questions

My QBT2131 stopped reading barcodes right after I put in the new battery — did I get a dead cell?

The imager needs a minimum voltage to power the scan engine at full intensity — if the cell shipped at a low state of charge, the imager may be running below that threshold even though the scanner appears on. Place the scanner in the cradle and charge it fully before triggering a scan. We tested this on the bench and saw the same symptom clear completely once the cell reached 4.1V and above.

The new battery drains faster than I expected across a full warehouse shift — what's pulling it down?

In a warehouse environment, the QBT2131 is simultaneously running Bluetooth polling, the scan imager, and the backlight on every trigger pull. Scan burst frequency is the biggest variable — high-volume pick-and-pack shifts with scans every few seconds keep the imager and radio both active far more than typical retail use. Check your wireless polling interval in the scanner configuration utility; reducing the Bluetooth beacon rate from the host side lowers idle current between scans and extends shift endurance noticeably.

The scanner feels warm on the back panel after several hours of continuous use — is that normal?

Sustained combined draw from the scan imager and Bluetooth radio generates heat inside a compact sealed housing with no active airflow. At 3.7V the thermal output is low, but several hours of continuous scanning in an enclosed grip will make the back panel noticeably warm to the touch — that is within normal operating range. If the scanner becomes hot rather than warm, or shuts down unexpectedly, check that the battery contacts are clean and seated fully, as high contact resistance concentrates heat at the terminal interface. A surface temperature you can hold your hand against is acceptable; one you cannot is not.
