Fits Datalogic QBT2131, QBT2400, QBT2430, QM2400 barcode scanners; replaces OEM part RBP-QMBT2X-BK.
3.7V 1600mAh lithium-ion cell delivers 5.92Wh total energy for sustained wireless scanning and cradle communication cycles.
Connector seats vertically into scanner battery door slot with positive contact on leading edge; locking tab engages on pull-out.
We bench-tested the RBP-QMBT2X-BK on QBT2131 hardware; BMS accepted dock charge handshake within two minutes of first insertion.
After installing, place the scanner in its cradle for a full charge cycle before using in pick-and-pack — scan trigger inrush current is highest when the cell is near minimum and a pre-charged cell prevents false BMS trips on the first shift.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Datalogic QBT2131 / QBT2400 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (RBP-QMBT2X-BK)

This is a 3.7V 1600mAh Li-ion replacement for the Datalogic QuickScan QBT2131, QBT2400, QBT2430, and QM2400 wireless barcode scanners. It matches OEM part number RBP-QMBT2X-BK and installs directly into the battery compartment. The cell dimensions are 108.80 × 32.40 × 27.00mm.

  • QBT2131 / QBT2400 series compatibility: These models share the same 3.7V battery rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol, which is why one pack covers the full range. The protection circuit communicates directly with the scanner's charge management IC, so the dock recognises the pack and begins a standard charge cycle without any configuration change.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on the QBT2400 platform. The BMS held voltage within spec across both the wireless radio draw and repeated scan trigger inrush events. No false low-battery cutoffs occurred during the test sequence.
  • First-shift prep for pick-and-pack operations: After installing the pack, seat the scanner in its cradle and run a full charge cycle before the shift begins. Scan trigger inrush current peaks when the cell is near minimum capacity, and a fully charged cell prevents the BMS from tripping on the first heavy scan burst of the day.

Cradle showing a charging error on a new pack

A charging error on a new pack almost always comes down to contact resistance at the dock pins, not a fault with the battery itself. Oxidation, dust, or a slight misalignment between the pack contacts and cradle pins raises resistance enough for the dock to flag an error. Wipe the gold contacts on the battery and the cradle with a dry lint-free cloth, then reseat the pack firmly until it clicks. If the error clears within 30 seconds, the contacts were the cause.

Scanner losing wireless connection during a rapid scan burst

During a rapid scan burst, the scanner is pulling current for both the imager and the 2.4GHz radio simultaneously. If the cell voltage sags below the radio module's minimum operating threshold — typically around 3.2V on a degraded pack — the wireless link drops before the battery indicator shows empty. A new cell at full charge maintains enough voltage headroom to sustain both loads without sag. If dropouts continue after a full charge, check that the cradle is delivering a complete charge cycle rather than a partial top-up by confirming the charge LED goes solid before removing the scanner.

Frequently Asked Questions

The scanner reads barcodes fine on the bench but misses scans on the warehouse floor — why does location matter?

On the warehouse floor, the scanner is typically further from the access point, which forces the radio to increase transmit power to maintain the wireless link. That extra radio draw, combined with the imager firing, pulls more current than bench-range scanning does. If the cell is even partially degraded, voltage sags under that combined load and the imager drops below the power level needed to decode reliably. Fit a fresh pack and confirm the cradle runs a full charge cycle before the shift — the charge LED should go solid before the scanner is removed.

The new battery feels warm after a full shift — is that a fault?

Warmth after an extended shift is normal for this form factor. The QBT2400 series houses the battery, radio, and imager in a compact enclosure with limited airflow, so heat from sustained wireless polling and repeated scan triggers accumulates. The pack is a problem only if it becomes hot to the touch or the scanner shuts down mid-shift. If the scanner cuts out, check that the battery contacts are clean and that the pack seated fully — a high-resistance connection causes localised heating at the contact points, which can trigger a BMS thermal cutoff.

The replacement pack charged overnight but the scanner shows low battery before the shift ends — what went wrong?

This usually means the cradle interrupted the charge cycle before the cell reached full capacity. Many Datalogic cradles time out or reset if the scanner is briefly removed and reseated during charging. Place the pack in the cradle and leave it undisturbed until the charge indicator goes solid — on most QBT2400-series cradles that is a steady green LED. If the solid-green state never appears, clean the cradle contact pins with a dry cloth and retry; a resistive contact prevents the charger from detecting charge completion and terminates the cycle early.
