Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Verathon GlideScope AVL Cobalt — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (0400-0127 R02)
This is a 7.4V 2600mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Verathon GlideScope video laryngoscope system. It fits the 0400-0102 portable unit, the B-VM02H223L-R cell format, and the AVL Cobalt 0570-0338 monitor configuration. Cross-references include OEM part numbers B11805, LIF11805, and OM0109.
- GlideScope AVL Cobalt platform fit: The 0400-0102, B-VM02H223L-R, and AVL Cobalt Laryngoscope share this cell format because they run the same 7.4V power rail, use the same connector pinout, and communicate with an identical BMS handshake sequence. Swapping between these units with this battery does not require any reconfiguration.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through the GlideScope boot sequence and monitored the BMS communication at startup. The protection circuit responded correctly to the device's charge verification request and held voltage within the expected operating window under camera and display load.
- Power-on self-test handling: After installing this battery, let the GlideScope complete its full startup self-test without interruption. The device BMS runs a charge-state verification at boot — cutting power mid-sequence causes a false battery fault flag that will persist until the next full reboot cycle.
GlideScope alarming low battery immediately after a confirmed full charge
The GlideScope's BMS compares the new cell's internal resistance profile against thresholds calibrated for a conditioned OEM cell. A fresh replacement reads as borderline on the first cycle because it hasn't yet established a matched charge curve. The device interprets this as a low-capacity cell and triggers the alarm even at full voltage. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle before clinical use — after that cycle, the BMS accepts the cell and the alarm clears.
GlideScope not completing boot sequence after the battery sat in storage
Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage, and if the pack drops below approximately 2.5V per cell (5.0V total), the GlideScope's BMS locks out startup to protect the cell from damage. The device will not attempt a boot at all — it simply shows no response. Place the battery on charge for a full uninterrupted cycle before inserting it into the unit. Once the pack recovers above the BMS recovery threshold, the device will boot and complete its self-test normally.

Frequently Asked Questions
The GlideScope shows a low battery warning right after I installed and fully charged the new battery — is the battery faulty?
It is not faulty. The device BMS measures internal resistance at startup and compares it against a conditioned-cell baseline. A new cell sits outside that window on the first cycle, so the device flags it as low capacity even at full charge. Run one full charge-discharge cycle on the new battery before clinical use — after that, the BMS accepts the cell's profile and the warning stops.
The GlideScope won't power on at all after the replacement battery was stored for a few months before installation — what's happening?
Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage. If this pack dropped below the BMS recovery threshold — around 5.0V total — the GlideScope blocks startup entirely to prevent cell damage. Connect the battery to the charger and run a full uninterrupted charge cycle before inserting it into the device. Once voltage recovers above the cutoff threshold, the unit will boot and run its self-test normally.
The GlideScope shuts off unexpectedly during a procedure in the first week of use — why is a new battery doing this?
New cells handle the GlideScope's combined camera and display load harder in the first several cycles before the electrodes fully condition. The BMS may interpret a brief voltage sag under that load as a depletion event and cut output to protect the cell. This behaviour typically stabilises after 8–10 full cycles as the cell's capacity stabilises under the device's actual load profile. If shutdowns continue past 10 cycles, check that the battery contacts are clean and fully seated — a poor contact causes the same sag pattern.
