Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Viper 3706V / 3806V / 4606V / 4706V — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery

This 3.7V 85mAh lithium-polymer cell replaces the internal battery in Viper remote transmitters across the 3706V, 3806V, 4606V, 4706V, and compatible series. These are the handheld remotes used to arm, disarm, and trigger remote start on Viper vehicle security systems. Dimensions are 21.50 x 20.25 x 3.56mm — measure your existing cell before installing.

  • Cross-series transmitter compatibility: The 3706V, 3806V, 4606V, and 4706V remotes share the same internal battery footprint and voltage rail. That's why one cell covers all these models — the PCB layout and connector position are consistent across this transmitter family.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the bench. The BMS held voltage steady across the full discharge curve, and the cell reached rated capacity without thermal anomalies or cutoff events.
  • Re-sync after battery swap: After replacing the battery, re-program the remote to the Viper control module. Any power interruption to the transmitter breaks the rolling code pairing. Without re-sync, the remote will send commands the module won't recognise.

Remote start not activating after battery swap

Replacing the transmitter battery clears the rolling code stored on the remote's microcontroller. The Viper control module expects a code sequence that's now out of sync, so it ignores the start command — it looks like the remote is dead, but the battery is fine. You need to run the programming sequence from the Viper installation manual for your specific module. Typically this involves cycling the ignition and pressing a button on the module within a set window — confirm the exact steps for your module number before assuming the battery is faulty.

Keyless entry not responding after installing the new cell

A new lithium-polymer cell ships at storage voltage — typically around 3.6V — not full charge. If the transmitter's low-voltage detection circuit flags this as insufficient, commands may not transmit at full strength or at all. Charge the remote via its charging port or cradle for at least one full cycle before testing range. If the remote still doesn't respond, hold the lock and unlock buttons simultaneously near the vehicle antenna to force a rolling code re-sync.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Viper remote sends a double-beep confirmation but the engine still won't crank after I swapped the battery — what's wrong?

The double-beep means the control module received the signal, so the new battery and transmitter are working. The fault is downstream — the module is receiving the command but a bypass or ignition input isn't completing the start circuit. Check that the hood pin switch is fully seated; Viper modules block remote start when the hood sensor reads open as a safety condition. Reconnect the hood pin and retry the start sequence.

The car alarm is going off on its own since I changed the remote battery — how do I stop it?

Swapping the remote battery can cause the control module to register a tamper event, especially if the remote lost power mid-sequence while the system was armed. The module interprets the sudden loss of transmitter signal as an intrusion trigger. Run the full disarm sequence — typically two presses of the unlock button or the system's valet procedure — to clear the tamper flag. If the alarm re-triggers, enter valet mode via the valet switch to suspend sensor monitoring while you complete the re-sync.

My Viper remote works fine up close but the range is much shorter than before — is the new battery the cause?

A new lithium-polymer cell at storage voltage puts out slightly less current than a fully charged cell, which reduces transmitter RF output. This is temporary — range normalises after the battery reaches full charge through a complete charge cycle. If short range persists after a full charge, check that the ribbon cable connecting the antenna trace on the PCB wasn't disturbed during the battery swap. A partially lifted antenna connection cuts range more than a low battery ever would.
