Fits Vivo Y100i 5G 2023 Standard Edition, replaces OEM part BA08.
3.91V, 4900mAh Li-Polymer cell powers the processor, display, and 5G modem identically to original.
Connector seats flat into the battery slot with no locking tabs or retention clips required.
We ran full discharge cycles on the bench; BMS accepted input from the fuel gauge IC without voltage cutoff errors.
On first charge after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle to let the coulomb counter recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Vivo Y100i 5G 2023 Standard Edition — 3.91V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BA08)

This is a 3.91V, 4900mAh (19.16Wh) Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Vivo Y100i 5G 2023 Standard Edition (V2279A). It replaces OEM part BA08 when the original cell has degraded and no longer holds adequate charge. The replacement restores full power delivery to the processor, display, and 5G modem.

  • Y100i 5G and V2279A compatibility: Both model designations share the same PCB layout, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — the BA08 cell fits both without any hardware modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell on a V2279A unit and confirmed the BMS accepted the new cell, voltage reported correctly at 3.91V nominal, and the charge IC reached full termination without fault codes.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first install: After fitting this cell, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle at standard rate. This lets the fuel gauge IC map its coulomb counter against the new cell's actual discharge curve before high-current charging is applied to an uncalibrated cell.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Vivo Y100i 5G after a cell swap

This happens when the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. The phone's voltage model expects the old cell to sustain load at 20–30% state-of-charge, but the new cell has a slightly different voltage cliff. Under 5G modem or display load, the cell voltage drops below the system's minimum threshold before the percentage reaches zero. One full discharge-charge cycle at standard (non-fast) charging corrects the coulomb counter and eliminates the false cutoff.

USB fast charging not activating after BA08 replacement

On the first cycle after installation, the charge IC may not negotiate the proprietary fast-charge protocol because the BMS has not yet confirmed cell state to the handshake controller. This is normal. Charge the device once to 100% using the standard OEM cable and charger without triggering fast charge. On the second cycle, fast charging typically activates once the BMS has logged a full charge termination event and accepted the cell as valid.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Vivo Y100i 5G keeps shutting off at around 25% — is the replacement battery faulty?

It is not a faulty cell. The fuel gauge IC on the Y100i 5G is still using the discharge curve it learned from your old, degraded battery. When the new BA08 cell hits a voltage dip under 5G or screen load, the system reads it as empty before the percentage reaches zero. Run one full discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge to 100% at standard rate with fast charging disabled. After that cycle, the coulomb counter resets to the new cell's curve and the shutdowns stop.

The battery percentage on my Y100i 5G is jumping around erratically after I fitted the new BA08 — what is causing this?

This is the fuel gauge IC actively recalibrating against the new cell. The coulomb counter lost its reference point when the old cell was removed, so percentage readings fluctuate until the IC completes at least one full discharge-charge cycle. Do not interrupt the first cycle — let the phone drain to shutdown on its own, then charge uninterrupted to 100% at standard rate. After one complete cycle the readings stabilise.

My Y100i 5G will not power on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is it dead?

A Li-Polymer cell in storage can self-discharge below 2.5V per cell, at which point the BMS locks out to prevent damage from deep discharge. The phone will not respond to a power button press or show any charge indicator. Connect the original OEM charger and leave it plugged in for 20–30 minutes without pressing anything — the charge IC applies a low-current trickle to bring the cell back above the BMS unlock threshold of approximately 3.0V. Once the charge LED activates or the screen shows a charging icon, normal charging has resumed.
