Fits Vodafone 331 and replaces OEM part CAB3010010C1 and equivalent batteries.
This 3.7V 600mAh Li-ion cell restores full talk and standby time on the 331 smartphone.
Connector slides straight in; no locking tab required for this Vodafone platform.
We bench-tested the cell at 250mA discharge; BMS accepted the charge cycle without cutoff fault.
On first power-on after installation, run one complete discharge-charge cycle without enabling any fast charge mode — this recalibrates the fuel gauge IC to the new cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Vodafone 331 / 541 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (CAB3010010C1)

This is a 3.7V, 600mAh Li-ion battery for the Vodafone 331 and 541 series phones, including the VF331 and VF541 variants. It replaces OEM part numbers CAB3010010C1, CAB30B4000C1, CAB20G0000C1, and CAB30M0000C1. Fit this when the original cell no longer holds a usable charge or fails to power the handset through basic calls and messaging.

  • 331 and 541 series compatibility: These models share the same 3.7V single-cell architecture, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol, which is why one cell covers both the 331 and 541 lines. The charge management IC expects the same communication from the battery regardless of which variant it sits in.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a 331 handset and confirmed the BMS accepted the cell without error flags. The protection circuit responded correctly to both low-voltage cutoff and full-charge termination.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first cycle: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-charge cycle at standard rate. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before it begins reporting accurate percentages. Skipping this step causes erratic percentage readings for several days.

Why the Vodafone 331 shuts down suddenly at 20–30% after a cell swap

A fresh cell has a slightly different voltage-to-capacity curve than the original. The phone's fuel gauge IC was calibrated to the old, degraded cell, so it misreads the new cell's state of charge. When the modem fires up for a call or the screen brightness spikes, the phone draws more current than the gauge expects at that reported percentage. The voltage drops below the cutoff threshold and the handset shuts off even though the cell still has capacity remaining. One full discharge to auto-off followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% resets the coulomb counter and resolves this.

Phone will not power on after the replacement cell sat in storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge over time, and a cell stored in a phone for several weeks can drop below 2.5V per cell — the threshold where the BMS locks out to prevent damage. The handset will show nothing on screen and will not respond to the charge cable immediately. Connect the phone to a low-current USB charger (a standard 5V 500mA port, not a fast charger) and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. Once the cell climbs back above 3.0V, the BMS releases and the phone will power on or show a charging indicator.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Vodafone 331 percentage jumps around erratically after I put the new battery in — is the cell faulty?

The cell is almost certainly fine. The fuel gauge IC inside the phone learned the discharge curve of the old degraded cell, and that calibration does not match the new cell's behaviour. Run one complete cycle — discharge the phone until it auto-shuts off, then charge uninterrupted to 100% with fast charging disabled. The coulomb counter resets against the new cell curve and the percentage readout stabilises within one to two cycles.

My 331 feels warm near the battery compartment while charging the new cell — should I be concerned?

A new Li-ion cell typically has higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell, so the charge IC works slightly harder during the first few cycles and generates a little more heat. This is normal and settles after three to five charge cycles as the cell conditions. If the phone stays warm throughout the entire charge and the temperature does not drop after the first few cycles, check that the back cover is fully seated — a gap traps heat against the cell. Normal warmth during charging is surface temperature, not hot to the touch.

Fast charging stopped working on my Vodafone 541 after fitting the replacement cell — the phone just charges slowly now.

On the first cycle after a cell swap, some charge controller implementations fall back to standard 5V charging while the BMS and fuel gauge IC synchronise with the new cell. This is a deliberate safety behaviour, not a fault. Complete one full charge at the slow rate without interrupting it, then reconnect your fast charger. In most cases, the fast charge protocol is accepted from the second cycle onward once the BMS has confirmed the cell's characteristics.
