Fits Vodafone Simply 1, Simply 2, VS1, VS2 — replaces OEM battery CS-MYV5SL.
This 3.7V 750mAh Li-ion cell powers calls, messaging, and standby on basic phones.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with no locking tab or polarity risk.
We bench-tested this pack at 500mA discharge; the BMS showed stable voltage curve, no premature cutoff.
On first charge after installation, use a standard 5V charger and avoid USB-PD fast charging for one complete cycle — the fuel gauge IC needs that full discharge to recalibrate against the new cell curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Vodafone Simply 1 / Simply 2 (VS1, VS2) — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is a 3.7V, 750mAh Li-ion cell for the Vodafone Simply 1, Simply 2, VS1, and VS2 handsets. These are basic mobile phones built for straightforward calling and messaging. It replaces the original cell when the phone no longer holds charge through a standard day of use.

  • Simply 1, Simply 2, VS1, VS2 platform fit: These four models share the same battery bay dimensions (53.80 × 33.70 × 5.80mm), connector pinout, and charge IC signalling. Swapping between any of them uses the same cell without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the VS2 platform. The BMS accepted charge current correctly, voltage held steady under active call load, and the protection circuit tripped cleanly at the low-voltage threshold without hard-locking the board.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first install: After fitting this cell, run one full discharge to automatic cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% before normal use. The phone's fuel gauge IC is calibrated against the old cell's discharge curve — one complete cycle rewrites that reference against the new cell.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Vodafone Simply series

This is the most common symptom after a cell ages past 18–24 months. The fuel gauge IC reports 20–30% remaining, but the cell's internal resistance has climbed high enough that it cannot sustain voltage when the GSM radio fires a transmission burst. Voltage drops below the BMS cutoff threshold in milliseconds — the phone shuts off before the OS can log a low-battery warning. A new cell with lower internal resistance eliminates the sag. After fitting, run one full discharge cycle so the fuel gauge IC recalibrates its cutoff map to the new cell.

Phone shows wrong battery percentage after fitting a new cell

The fuel gauge IC on these handsets uses a stored discharge curve from the original cell to estimate state of charge. A new cell has a different impedance profile, so the percentage reading drifts — often jumping or reading full when the cell is not. This is not a fault with the replacement cell. Discharge the phone fully until it shuts itself off, then charge to 100% in one uninterrupted session. That single cycle gives the coulomb counter enough data to rebuild an accurate curve against the new cell's actual voltage profile.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Vodafone Simply 1 shuts off mid-call even though it still shows 25% battery — is the new cell faulty?

The cell is almost certainly fine. The Simply 1's GSM radio draws a sharp current spike during a transmission burst, and if the fuel gauge IC hasn't recalibrated yet, the percentage shown is based on the old cell's discharge curve — not the new one. That mismatch means the phone cuts power before the display can warn you. Run one full discharge to auto-shutdown and one uninterrupted charge to 100%; the fuel gauge IC will recalibrate and the shutdowns will stop.

The phone won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for months before I fitted it — what happened?

Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage. If the cell sat long enough to drop below roughly 2.5V, the BMS entered a deep-discharge lockout to prevent damage. The phone won't power on because the BMS is blocking output until the cell recovers. Connect the charger and leave it for at least 30–45 minutes without pressing the power button — the charge IC will trickle current into the cell until it clears the BMS recovery threshold, then normal charging resumes.

The battery percentage on my VS2 jumps around erratically — it was at 60%, then suddenly 80%, then dropped to 40% in minutes.

Erratic percentage jumps are the fuel gauge IC recalibrating against the new cell's discharge curve. The coulomb counter still has the old cell's impedance map loaded, so it misreads state of charge until it collects enough real-world data. This settles after one or two complete discharge-charge cycles. Discharge the phone until it shuts off automatically, charge to 100% without interruption, and repeat once more — the readings will stabilise to within a few percent.
