Fits Dopod 515 smartphone; replaces OEM battery PC26A.
3.7V, 1150mAh lithium-ion cell restores full charge cycles to aging or dead packs.
Connector slides straight into the original battery slot with no orientation confusion.
Bench tested on a 515 unit — BMS accepted charge without fault codes; voltage held steady under normal load.
On first insertion, power on and run a complete discharge-recharge cycle before heavy use — the fuel gauge IC needs one full cycle against the new cell curve to stop reporting wrong percentages mid-use.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Dopod 515 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (PC26A)

This is a 3.7V, 1150mAh Li-ion replacement cell for the Dopod 515 Windows Mobile smartphone. It slots directly into the original battery bay and uses the same OEM part number PC26A. If your 515 won't hold charge or refuses to power on, this cell replaces the degraded original.

  • Dopod 515 fitment: The 515 uses a single-cell 3.7V Li-ion pack with a three-contact connector carrying voltage, ground, and a thermistor line. Any replacement must match all three contacts — this cell does. The BMS on the phone reads the thermistor to gate charging current, so a missing or mismatched contact will prevent the charge IC from activating.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a 515 unit and confirmed the charge IC accepted the thermistor signal correctly. The BMS engaged at the expected cutoff voltage and did not trip on a standard charge cycle.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first installation, run one full discharge to near-empty before charging completely. The 515's fuel gauge IC was calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve — skipping this step causes the phone to report inaccurate percentages until the IC relearns the new cell's behaviour.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Dopod 515

Aged Li-ion cells develop a sharp voltage cliff — voltage drops steeply under load before the fuel gauge predicts it. On the 515, the modem and backlight draw enough current to trigger this cliff while the gauge still reads 20–30%. The phone's low-voltage cutoff fires before the gauge catches up, causing an abrupt shutdown. A fresh cell with a flatter discharge curve eliminates the cliff — after one full calibration cycle, the gauge tracks voltage correctly down to around 3.4V under load.

Phone won't power on after sitting in a drawer for months

Li-ion cells left discharged in storage self-discharge past the BMS lockout threshold — typically below 2.5V per cell. When voltage drops that low, the BMS on the 515 cuts all output to protect the cell from permanent damage. Plugging the charger in may show no response at all. Leave the phone on charge for 20–30 minutes without attempting to power it on — the charge IC will trickle current into the cell until it recovers above 2.8V, at which point the BMS re-engages and normal charging resumes.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Dopod 515 shows 25% battery and then just shuts off — is the new cell faulty?

It isn't faulty — the fuel gauge IC is still running the old cell's discharge curve. A fresh Li-ion cell has a different voltage-to-capacity profile, so the gauge misreads where the voltage cliff actually sits and the phone cuts out before it expects to. Run one complete discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge fully without interruption. After that single cycle the gauge recalibrates against the new cell and the premature shutdowns stop.

The Dopod 515 battery percentage jumps around erratically after I fitted the replacement — 60% one minute, 40% the next.

This is the coulomb counter on the 515 losing its reference point after the cell swap. The IC accumulated error against the old cell's capacity over years of use, and now it's trying to track a cell it has no baseline for. The jumping settles after one full discharge-to-shutdown followed by a complete uninterrupted charge. Once the IC logs a full cycle on the new cell, it anchors its percentage calculations to the correct 1150mAh capacity and the readings stabilise.

My Dopod 515 gets noticeably warm near the battery during the first few charges — is that normal?

A new Li-ion cell typically has higher internal impedance on the first couple of cycles than a broken-in cell. The 515's charge IC pushes the same current it always has, and that current meeting higher impedance generates more heat than you'd see on a conditioned cell. Warmth — not heat — during the first two or three charges is normal. If the phone becomes hot to the touch or charging stops early, check that the thermistor contact on the battery connector is seated fully, as a loose contact causes the charge IC to run without proper thermal feedback.
