Fits Vodafone VDA, v1620, and VPA III phones replacing OEM part PH26B.
3.7V 4200mAh Li-ion cell delivers 15.54Wh — restores full daily runtime for calls, messaging, and apps.
Connector slides vertically into battery slot with single locking tab; matches original form factor exactly.
We bench-tested the cell at 80% discharge load; BMS accepted charge without fault codes and held voltage stable through 500mA draw cycles.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle — this lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell discharge curve before high-current fast charging resumes.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Vodafone VDA / VPA III Series — 3.7V Li-ion 4200mAh Replacement Battery (PH26B)

This is a 3.7V Li-ion battery rated at 4200mAh (15.54Wh), built to fit the Vodafone VDA, v1620, and VPA III smartphones. It replaces OEM part numbers PH26B and AHTXDSSN. If your original cell has degraded, swells, or no longer holds a charge, this unit slots in as a direct swap.

  • VDA / v1620 / VPA III compatibility: All three models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol — 84.78 × 58.32 × 11.68mm with identical voltage rails. One cell fits all three without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on a VDA unit and monitored BMS handshake, charge acceptance, and cutoff behaviour across a full cycle. The protection circuit triggered correctly at both the high-voltage and low-voltage thresholds.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle at standard rate. This lets the fuel gauge IC map its coulomb counter against the new cell's actual discharge curve before high-current charging is introduced.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on a fresh VDA cell

This happens because the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. When the modem fires at full power or the screen brightness spikes, the new cell's actual voltage drops below the emergency cutoff threshold faster than the gauge predicts. The phone cuts out even though the reported percentage looks safe. Run one full discharge to 3.0V under normal use, then charge to 100% — the coulomb counter resets and shutdowns stop.

Battery percentage jumping erratically after cell swap

The VDA's fuel gauge IC stores a learned capacity model from the old cell. After a swap, the stored model no longer matches the new cell's actual charge-voltage curve, so percentage readings can jump 10–15 points in either direction. This is not a faulty cell — it is an uncalibrated gauge. Complete two full discharge-charge cycles at the standard charge rate without interrupting either cycle. After the second cycle, readings stabilise to within 3–5% accuracy.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Vodafone VDA won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for months — is it dead?

The BMS has most likely tripped into lockout because the cell self-discharged below 2.5V during storage. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC needs to trickle current into the cell until it clears the BMS lockout threshold before the phone will respond. If the charge LED shows nothing after 40 minutes on a wall adapter, check that the battery connector is fully seated.

Fast charging stopped working the first time I plugged in the VDA after fitting this battery — what's wrong?

On the first cycle after a cell swap, some USB-PD and proprietary fast-charge protocols are rejected by the new BMS until the fuel gauge IC has completed one handshake cycle with the charge controller. Plug in using a standard 5V charger for the first full charge, let it reach 100%, then reconnect your fast charger. The protocol negotiation completes correctly on the second cycle and fast charging resumes at full rate.

The VDA feels warm near the battery compartment while charging the new cell — is something wrong?

A new high-impedance cell generates more heat during the first few charge cycles than a broken-in cell does. The charge IC works harder to push current into a cell with higher initial internal resistance, and that converts more energy to heat. This is normal for the first two to three cycles and reduces as the cell's impedance drops. If the phone becomes too hot to hold or the charge IC cuts out before reaching 100%, check that the rear cover is fully closed and ventilation around the phone is clear.
