Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Vokkero GUARD CHX1 / FCE Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BAT-010)
This is a 3.7V, 1800mAh Li-ion battery for the Vokkero GUARD CHX1 and GUARD FCE-series handheld barcode scanners. It replaces OEM part numbers BAT-010 and BAT-020. The pack fits the GUARD FCE001-ST, FCE02, and FCE03 alongside the CHX1 — all share the same voltage rail and form factor.
- GUARD CHX1 and FCE-series compatibility: These models run off the same 3.7V single-cell architecture with a shared connector and BMS handshake protocol. One pack covers the whole family — no firmware or voltage mismatch to worry about across the range.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through repeated scan-burst sequences on the CHX1 platform and monitored BMS response during combined wireless polling and trigger inrush. The protection circuit held stable cutoffs at both ends of the charge window throughout testing.
- First-shift preparation on the CHX1: After fitting the new pack, seat the scanner in its cradle and run a full charge cycle before starting pick-and-pack. Scan trigger inrush current peaks when the cell is near minimum. A fully charged cell prevents false BMS trips on the first shift's opening scans.
Cradle showing a charging error on a new BAT-010 pack
Charging errors on a fresh pack are almost always a dock contact problem, not a faulty battery. The CHX1 cradle uses spring-loaded pogo pins that collect dust and label residue in warehouse environments. Oxidation or debris raises contact resistance high enough that the dock's charge controller reads a fault instead of initiating a charge cycle. Wipe the battery contacts and cradle pins with a dry cloth, reseat the scanner firmly, and the charge indicator should clear within 30 seconds.
Scanner losing wireless connection during rapid scan bursts
The CHX1 draws current simultaneously from its wireless radio and the scan trigger during a rapid burst sequence. When the cell voltage dips under combined load, the radio module drops its connection before the BMS trips — the scanner goes dark on the network while the display stays on. This is a voltage-sag symptom, not a radio fault. A cell holding its charge correctly keeps voltage above the radio's minimum threshold of approximately 3.2V under combined draw. If the disconnect persists on a charged pack, check that the battery contacts are clean and making full surface contact with the scanner's terminals.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Vokkero CHX1 won't read barcodes after I swapped the battery — the laser comes on but scans fail
A weak cell voltage is enough to power the indicator laser but not sustain the imager or decoder at full draw. The scan engine needs a stable supply above 3.4V to complete a decode cycle reliably. Place the scanner in the cradle and run a full charge before attempting scans — this is the most common cause of post-swap read failures. If the problem persists on a fully charged pack, clean the scan window; a dirty lens mimics a power fault symptom exactly.
The scanner feels warm after an extended shift — is something wrong with the new battery?
Warmth after a long shift is normal for the CHX1 housing. The compact enclosure traps heat from both the wireless radio running continuous polling and the scan engine firing repeatedly. The BAT-010 cell itself runs cool; the heat source is the electronics, not the pack. If the housing becomes too hot to hold comfortably, reduce the wireless polling interval in the scanner's network settings — that cuts the dominant heat contributor without affecting scan performance.
New battery charges fully but shift endurance is noticeably shorter than the old pack was at its best
Shift endurance on the CHX1 is driven by two factors together: scan burst frequency and how often the wireless radio is polling the host system. A high polling rate drains the 1800mAh cell faster than scan activity alone. Check the scanner's radio configuration and lower the poll interval if it is set to the maximum. If endurance is still short after adjusting that setting, verify the pack reaches a full 4.2V at end of charge — a cradle with worn contacts often terminates the charge cycle early and delivers a partially charged cell to the shift.
